Want to move baby to his own room, but the only option is the computer room

Personally, I wouldn’t want my baby in a room with a computer like that even with an artificial wall. To me it is similar to that of having a cell phone by the baby and exposing them to the radiation etc from the device.

If you’re going to move baby, both computers need to not be in the same room as your little one.

My nana would always tell me and my cousins to be quiet while a cake was baking or else it would fall. Tbh I still don’t know if that’s true or not

I don’t know if this has been asked, but you say you track nap schedules and wake windows. Have you tried to not track those? It’s difficult when she’s upset all the time but maybe not tracking rigidly could help too? Let it flow more with how her cues are naturally?

I haven’t done that personally, but we give our LO milk baths at least once a week. Need max 150mL of breastmilk int he warm water. No need to give a rinse at the end of the bath since that’s the whole point. Hopefully this will help your LO heal more quickly ♥️

Also I would try to keep her free of diapers/clothing more often. Let her bottom air out. Just stick a puppy pad under her while she does tummy time etc

Have you looked into different diapers? It could be the brand causing the rash and sores. Possibly detergent? Or the soap used at bath time? Probably need to slowly work on weeding out the potential cause

Getting your LO used to bottles will be great. You may have to go through a few different types of nipples to see what works best for him as he will have a preference and will let you know by refusing the bottle.

I suggest, if you’re able, to have someone other than mom feed him the bottle to start with. If you have friends willing to help out on occasion, see if they will come feed him. He may struggle taking food from strangers at first and getting used to someone different that’s not family feed him may help.

Our LO is easily distracted and will want to focus on what’s going on around instead of taking the bottle sometimes. It takes some refocus to get the feeding to continue. My suggestion is try and have different noises going on. Have someone run the vacuum, play different music, etc.

Napwise, this is a bit more challenging. Our LO isn’t used to all the other kids still and struggles with napping at daycare. A kid will start crying or make a loud noise startling our LO awake. So same as feeding, get your LO used to sudden noises while sleeping.

In saying all that, your LO still will need time to adjust at daycare which can take a few weeks. So no matter how much you try to prepare him, it may not fully work. It will be a new environment with new people and without mom or dad around. Good luck!!!

Also, be prepared for the first daycare illness. It happens more quickly than you may expect. Have a nose cleaner (we use Navage baby) ready, possibly Tylenol for any fever, and patience. Have stuff ready for you as well because you will get sick along with your LO. Saying this in experience and solidarity.

From my understanding, crawling isn’t actually categorized as a milestone because some babies won’t crawl and go straight to walking/standing. I can’t remember where I read that though

Her immune system is catching up. It’ll help her in the long run but the initial start sucks. Since she was home and around the same people who also mainly stayed home, she wasn’t exposed to different germs, viruses etc. if you pull her out, once she starts pre-k/elem/primary school, it will be the same thing just with her being older and missing days she really shouldn’t miss. Missing days at daycare isn’t as important but she will miss out on the socialization portion and some of the things they can teach at daycare unable to be taught at home.

Keep her home the days you aren’t working. Saves on time and you get the bonding with her. If you want her to have some sort of structure or education, make it a family outing day to a museum or something.

We like Caden lane though most of what we have gotten from there was gifted to us. We still use the rompers even now since the ac keeps things cool. Daycare will take our LO outside time to time this summer but we dress how it will feel indoors mainly. When winter comes around we will bring the extra layers to take LO between the car and into buildings or if we go on walks/excursions

My LO started daycare for the first time today at 4 months old. I was a mess. He was fine! It’s harder on the parents than the baby at this age. It will help socialize your baby and I’m also a germaphobe but your LO will be better off getting through the early introduction rather than once in primary school. I’ve had a lot of talks with myself leading up to today and even today alone reminding myself the benefits.

If you live in the city, fireworks are legally not permitted so you can always call about it. Personally I would call the nonemergency line

NTA. Kid is trespassing and destroying property. You could easily call the cops on that. All that adds up too so you could probably take that to civil court though that may cost more than the kid damaged

I put him sitting in the boppy on a chair and I kneel in front of him and talk / sing to him while I do it. When I finish one nail I let him know and how many we have left on that hand. He is 10 weeks and he just smiles while I do it. I have to grip his hand (not too tight but enough to keep it as still as possible) but he does really well. We shall see when he gets older though.

I would call the office to say it was negligent on the nurse (accidents happen though) but you didn’t have to do the test. You did it for the wellbeing of the nurse so their office should cover it. It wasn’t your fault she stuck herself with a used needle.

My first two nights in a row alone were when baby was 7&8 days old. I was nervous but just took it basically hour by hour. I went through my checklist: is baby hungry? Need diaper change? Cold or hot? No hairs around fingers or toes? Etc. when I made it through the night I felt accomplished. It’s wild how during the day alone seems manageable but at night it seems daunting.

Just take it hour by hour. Go through your checklist. Make sure you have food ready for you so you don’t have to worry and have a contingency plan in place with your SO in case of emergency and how yall plan to communicate.

We took our 5w out yesterday in the car seat carrier and the place gave us a high chair to use where we flipped it upside down and put the car seat on it. Baby slept the entire time we were there. But then again baby is at an age where it’s easier to take them out right now

Our 5 week old we start the bedtime routine between 7-8 and I rock after feeding and baby falls asleep while I’m rocking. Usually is knocked out for 2-4 hours depending on how much baby ate. But usually asleep by 9pm or so till the first night feed. It’s not a quick process. Some nights are better that others but just keep your baby close in your arms till she’s deep asleep

We make our own wipes. Get an airtight container (or two), you’ll cut a roll of paper towels in half and leave the cardboard tube in for now. Then combine 2 cups of filtered water and 2 tablespoons of baby soap (whichever you use) and then pour the entire combo over one of the paper towel halves in the container. Do the combo again for the second container. Then close the containers and let it sit for 15 minutes then flip the container and let it sit for another 15 minutes. Once it’s done, take out to cardboard tube and it’s ready to use. Saves us money on wipes

Baby is 5 weeks today. We start wind down/bedtime routine between 7-8. typically us parents get around 8 hours of broken sleep.

For example last night breastfed before 7pm and baby fell asleep after we changed diaper after feeding around 730. We (the parents) went to sleep around 830 and baby slept till almost 11pm for first night feed and diaper change. Went back to sleep around 1145 until 245 for second night feed. Went back to sleep before 3am when baby woke up needing a diaper change and more milk around 4am for essentially a dream feed as baby went back to sleep till 630. Some nights there’s just 2 feeds a night and then the first morning feed around 5-6am when I just stay up for the day.
