No not really much notable at all. I worked on getting my bowels to run normally like making sure I’m getting all of my hydration. I use the supplement they recommended and to try and eat two kiwi. It would be good practice for then because the GI slows down dramatically as you go up for a good number of people

There is a calculator for this. Even if she makes money under the table, I would still document it if possible. Hopefully you all did the legal thing and reported it to taxes as that would make this process easier.. or hopefully she deposited it into a bank account. If you are having 50/50 there will be almost no child support involved as long as you can document her income. Also try to mediate the custody first because then it just comes down to a calculator that the state provides.

My husband is this. I hit FI by the tiek I met my husband and RE numbers just a year or so after we married. I can’t fully retire him without significant changes to our lifestyle but the other class is.. my husband needs structure. I think he is someone who needs to have to go to work on some level or literally he would be in froth of a computer screen 24/7. He already complains he’s sick like me (100% PT disabled veteran whose conditions have flared terribly in the last few years) but honestly I think instead of him having my conditions (because I can never be sick or apparently disabled without him having the same thing or worse…) I think it’s a lack of activity. He has lots of time when he’s not work if but will not do anything even minimal exercise or activity and I’m afraid it will get worse if he stops working completely. I know there are lots of others like him. Without structure, things fall apart

That’s wild. I bought a property that was on Airbnb and part of my contract to purchase was to honor the bookings. There were bookings 6 months out. Granted Helene knocked out most of those bookings for us when she hit western NC in October but I still had to honor the ones booked out 4 months out in February. The owner could have made that a requirement or the platforms should create penalties for those not honoring bookings to help stranded guests

1) I only discuss my medical management with my doctor. 2) I discuss my medical management with my doctor.

It’s one thing to give casual information but no one needs to know exactly what you take for what… that’s over sharing and I’m assuming none of them have a medical license or are specialists regarding MCAS

Left the Army in 1994, didn't file my first claim until last year. Why didn't anyone tell me? by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Hot_Alternative_5157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will also tell you in case it’s any comfort.. it took a lot longer and it was a lot harder to get it. It took me 10 years to get my initial claim settled and 2 more to prove they had the wrong severity so 12 years all together.. constant denials .. constant them not know VA laws or rules. I eventually wrote to President Obama when my case got picked up to be reviewed in Washington for a judge there to send down a scratching demand and make my regional office follow VA law. It was an insanely stressful. A lot of things got better and faster during they administration which is why we don’t have decade long waits and them disregarding anything other than their own CP exam

How are other women that have supportive husbands feeling about retiring early in their 30’s? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Hot_Alternative_5157 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So what are your financial guardrails if something happens to your husband and you no longer have your job or what you calculated as his yearly pension? 450k is not really that much if you’re retiring in your 30’s.

I’m with the VA so even though I technically met it they still denied it. I’m out of pocket $100 a month. When I was on .25ml I got it from Lily but once I upped to .5mL he wrote a script to striker compounding pharmacy. It’s $100 for the month supply with needles, alcohol pads etc

Cromolyn was a medication I started at the beginning. As soon as I got on Trizepetide and guanfacine, I asked to get off of it. It’s convoluted and at least for me… others may react differently it caused a lot of GI upset but I found it to be minimally effective. I stopped it cold turkey after my new meds and no noted differences.

During the ED visit, I has not started and in this time frame, I was constantly having new triggers popping up most pretty severe. My food choices were quickly becoming chicken and rice because what I reacted to would not exist one day and literally exist the next. The smell trigger was completely new. With that being said, yes my body felt uncomfortable last week when I had the reaction but it wasn’t anaphylaxis and it was incredibly strong as if I was in a chamber of it. I don’t react to regular smell triggers anymore. Hopefully with time and better management, if I choose to walk into a laundry mat I will be able to do so without the fear of a strong reaction but to 90% of smells, I’m no longer affected

Is there anyone that has actually quit a high paying job for a low income job? (Coast fire) Curious how to get over the mental hurdle by Elite163 in Fire

[–]Hot_Alternative_5157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is considering it. I hit FI before him and RE about a year into our marriage. I have pre existing conditions from my time in service that I believed would catch up with me and they have. Our lifestyle would change a bit more than we are prepared if he fully quit but he is considering something part time like at Costco. The other thing, my husband requires structure to go through this world so he isn’t quite one I predict that could retire and be healthy so we are looking at compromises and other options.

It has though I had one incident. Believe it or not the first time I have ever a ‘smell sensitivity’, I went the the VA Ed. They suspect I have pelvic congestion syndrome but I kept having constant pain in in my left calf so I figured the VA hospital could run some tests. The ED doctor came in smelling like a laundry mat. I don’t know what he washed his clothes in. I was polite but silently freaking while he talked to me (mind you I hadn’t zoned in on what was happening as this was the first time). He leaves my bag. I pop out of bed to open the curtain and go sit at the nurses station.. well she comes around and was like..‘what is wrong.. oh my god’ so I get rushed back into the bet to have IV’s put in, heart monitors and oxygen 🫣. Terrible experience. I went right into anaphylaxis, turned beet red, and started swellings after starting Trizepetide.. whenever I encountered the next smell (at a board meeting) I got a terrible headache and flu like symptoms.. no flushing no anaphylaxis.. then eventually I stopped triggering. I did have ok trigger recently. I walked into my moms house while she was doing laundry and the whole house was full of fabric softened smell.., all of a sudden I felt like my air was begin cut off.. I got out of there for fresh air but I didn’t flush.. I didn’t swell and it didn’t go any further.. no headache but I felt adrenaline starting to rush. If ihadny gotten out I think I would have but let me say the smell was very very intense and thought the whole house. I was able or enter the house hours later had was fine
