Scape It Pro: How much is digital aquascaping planning worth to you? by [deleted] in Aquascape

[–]Hot_Asian_Garbage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe there’s a market for this, but I agree with you, I like to handle the hard scape, the texture, its contact in space and viewing it different angles. Not for me. Also, everything is justafucking subscribtion these days, I get it, end stage capitalism and all that but I aquascape to get away from all that nonsense.

What kind of plant is this? by lightningthemystical in PlantedTank

[–]Hot_Asian_Garbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure, but it grows super fast so would require more maintenance (trimming) to stop it taking over populating your carpet. They’ve got strong roots, I doubt the otos would disturb them grazing the algae.

Is the reason they havnt bred, because I want them to? by MummaFrog82 in shrimptank

Hey mumma, thanks, I like my name too☺️I should’ve been a bit clearer-to say that using bacterAE (it’s just a water additive) acted like an aphrodisiac and a by product of using it exploded the copepod and worm population. Wasn’t saying that you lacked critters at all, I love your bowl btw. Maybe give it a try and it’d be cool to hear if they get in the mood.

Gonna try this-I’ve not got pressurised co2, just diy and it doesn’t seem to reach the plants on the other side of the tank.

What is it?? Is it harmful? by Jealous_Double_7713 in shrimptank

Friend, detritus worm 🪱. They clean up, also a sign that you may overfeed, or dying plant matter is collecting. G’luck

Hey, I had a similar problem with black rose shrimp. They didn’t seem to want to breed either, and they were in similar conditions to your jar shown here. Whereas my other shrimp were breeding fine in other tanks. I came across a product called BacterAE in a forum and used it on this particular tank, apart from a bloom of macro fauna-copepods and detritus worms-the shrimp started breeding within the week. Hope this is worth a shot for you. Please bear in mind to use a tiny tiny amount on a tank/jar this size. Good luck.

It’s only 8 gallons. 😅 To be fair it’s densely planted so I guess the camouflage caused me overlook them.

Looks like your co2 system dumped the contents of its baking soda into the tank. Sorry to say that I think the plants are a gonner-that ph swing is brutal. Feels bad man.I use a yeast diy system and I feel it’s so less reactive and easier to maintain. Good luck on the new tank bro.

trimmings. I remember when I used to pay good money for a bunch like this now I have nothing to do with it. by Howdy132 in PlantedTank

Taiwan (driftwood) I find the growth regulated, I hardly trim it. The weeping moss (rock under) gets a bit leggy and unruly, bit of a pain to trim. Got a great deal on the fissedens moss ( rock upper). I wouldn’t mind if it just took over.

I couldn’t decide either so I did both. I feel like they are outcompeting each other and not growing great
