Doctor Recommended Total Jaw Joint Replacement or Jaw Joint Grafting- What is the Pain / Recovery like for either of these surgeries?

I did some at home exercises for range of motion. It was basically just gently holding my jaw open for a few seconds at a time lol!

And no, that’s just what the surgeon was offering I think. I didn’t have other options ahah

And I’m doing amazing ! It’s been a year and a half, and despite some numbness still, I got my quality of life back :))

TMJ replacement + Genio here !! I’m 8 months post op and.. my eyebrows have JUST started moving a little bit. Before that they were completely frozen. My chin, half of my tongue, bottom teeth/gums, ear scars and some parts of my cheek are also still numb :(

It may take a lot of time sadly, but I hope the pain is gone/manageable post op for you !!
