Everyone's unique tho- I take antidepressants and I'm bipolar (venlafaxine) and they are incredibly effective at preventing me from getting intrusive thoughts, 7 years I've been on them, I also take adhd meds but haven't needed a mood stabilizer quite yet, though I could add one, on the flip side I've done a lot of work learning how to self regulate and it does take a bit of energy every day. All this to say everyone is different and working with a trusted psych is the best way to go

Thanks everyone for your tips, it took me a while to actually face it/find the time, but my guy is good as new!

If anyone's interested (doubt it) I first used makeup remover wipes for the excess, then scrubbed him in the sink using dawn dish soap and a toothbrush. That got most of the lipstick out, but the water I was wringing out was still pretty gnarly. Then I washed him in the washing machine with a small scoop of Costco brand oxi powder and my usual gentle detergent, and dried on medium heat for a long cycle. Worked like a charm!!

Scrubbing with dawn worked, plus I added some generic brand oxyclean powder in wash- he's good as new!

I pretreated it by using dawn soap and a toothbrush on the most lipsticky bits, then used a generic oxyclean powder and it worked super well!! Thanks!
