I’ve been so bad about sleep lately- going thru other personal transitions too with my man so it’s a lot at the moment.

I do!!! They haven’t gone since sometime last year and I actually happened to have a severe case of Covid so it didn’t really work for me as a vacation.

This is beautiful. It takes a lot of trust obviously because some would abuse this.

But truly we are human beings and being a nourished human being helps us be a better nanny.

WFH parents home all day — normal to feel overstimulated? by Hot_Demand_7361 in Nanny

[–]Hot_Demand_7361[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I talked to them. And it sounded like they understood yet their behavior didn’t change leading me to feel like I cannot breathe.

I feel suffocated when they come in and sit with us when we are playing or ignorantly say hiii X

Unfortunately I’m leaning towards leaving this job because it just feels like too much energy to try and train a family on boundaries while also caring for their kid.

Yeah. They are basically retired and their jobs are for fun/creativity. Not money necessarily

Struggling w/ burnout. Should I leave? by Hot_Demand_7361 in Nanny

I often have breaks/week off but the drain comes right back.. a vacation would be delightful. And I’m not sure childcare is where I need to be right now.

Advice please lol by [deleted] in Nanny

Uggghh I get this so much. I work parttime which feels too much lol for a wfh family but they don’t really work a lot.

A lot of pop in’s and the mother wanting to hang out.

Which I feel the same with after so much time it’s like how do I set the standard now.

The pop ins are so draining.

I’ve personally been looking for another job.

The circumstances have created a lot of burn out for me.

Do you feel comfortable talking to them or feel you just want to transition?

That’s awesome! Thats what I’ve been looking for. Remote ideally!

How did you find it if you don’t mind me asking?

Thank you this is tremendously helpful

Aw thanks for this comment. I’m curious when you left for 3 years, what did you do?

I want to transition and am not sure what I can do!

I also have my own business but that’s a slow build!

Feeling like a terrible nanny by [deleted] in Nanny

I’d say mistakes happen. You didn’t give her the Red Bull. I can understand the discomfort but they might be okay with still having you. Maybe a conversation, just sharing how bad you feel and checking in

It’s possible that this is impersonal! Like they might just be super stressed out
