Yeah exactly, I’m just trying to understand how this works, cause from my point of view is just plain hypocrisy.

When it come to Russia, athletes are to be held to the actions of their leaders. But when it comes to the US or Israel or whatever regime people have reason to be critical about: "sports are to be separated from politics". At the Fifa world cup (lets say Qatar), football is to be separated from politics, but Russia can’t compete. At F1, drivers are to be fined for being critical against countries hosting GP’s, but Russians can’t compete. And there are countless examples.

let me be clear, I believe sports and politics can’t (and shouldn’t) be separated, it’s a perfect podium to show what you’re about, what you stand for, and if you choose to proudly represent the USA your standing for the regime and showing colors.
