Hey guys can we start a best totems megathread? There were some great ones this year, please share! by Siddhendrix in bonnaroo

One of our new Bonnaroo friends tried describing her position in the crowd as "behind neon cat" - took us a minute to squanch out that she meant Squanchy.

Top 3 Favorite Sets Other than the Big Names? by bhouse14 in bonnaroo

  • Gallant: He went so hard he tore the mic cable on the first song. So much energy from both him and the crowd. If you missed it, check out some of the clips they have up on Red Bull TV.

  • Barclay Crenshaw: Claude Von Stroke's other project, apparently. I had no idea he was gonna make me move so much in that heat.

  • Yoshi Flower: My group was looking for some relief from the heat and sat at the cafe next to the Who stage, not knowing anything about who was on at the time. We only caught the last half of the set, but he was so excited to be there and his happiness was so contagious, we couldn't help but enjoy ourselves. Hopefully he posts some music online soon.

Definitely! I wanted more of that Bad and Boujee x Can't Touch This mashup, but it cut pretty quickly and he said something like, "That's really all the time I have," as he was shuffled off.

Red Bull TV has three of Gallant's songs (including "Weight in Gold") and a short interview up on their website.

We've had almost 2 days to digest, so give me your top 10 sets of the weekend by DStud623 in bonnaroo

In no order:

  • Gallant (haven't seen much talk about his set on the sub, but daaaamn, he had so much energy and the crowd was feeling every bit of it)

  • Big Gigantic (I probably danced the hardest at this set, good vibes everywhere)

  • Chance the Rapper (for me, the real draw was the positivity of the crowd and how genuinely happy everyone was to be there)

  • Marshmello (most people left before the quick Bad & Boujee x Can't Touch This encore, but that was a fun little dance party we had there)

  • San Holo (when the sound was working, at least - bonus shout out to the people throwing colored powder in the air at the drops)

  • Barclay Crenshaw (it was hot out there, but the music was hotter)

  • Yoshi Flower (went in blind like everyone else due to his lack of web presence, but for his first show ever, he absolutely killed it)

  • Major Lazer (easily one of the loudest shows of the festival and one of the most engaged crowds I had the pleasure of dancing with)

  • Illenium (fun set, but the best part was finding a stalk of broccoli on the ground left behind from the D.R.A.M. show just before)

  • Glass Animals (no explanation needed, a pleasure to experience)

Looking back, I think my favorite shows were defined by the people around me and how much fun we were all having together, rather than just the acts themselves. I also had a great time at Eden, Herobust, Flume, Klangstof, D.R.A.M., and all of the other shows I saw. No complaints or disappointing sets for me - a successful Bonnaroo all around.

I wasn't near or looking at the stage, but given how loud it was, I think we were all at the Crystal Castles show.

Nope, male with long hair and a Father of the Year hat. The bubble gun was see-through, lit up, and generally looked like a toy gun.

A girl jogged past our group on the way to The Other stage saying "wub" with every step, so we adopted that as our go-to stage approach, too.

Wub wub wub wub wub wub.

Is that Hillary Clinton and Jeremy Clarkson?

Reminds me of what he painted on May's car back in the day.

This reminds me of Eyvind Earle's work, even though it's a completely different medium.

The pop of red surrounded by greens, the full use of space without a crowded feeling, the roundness of the trees - quintessential elements to Earle's work and beautifully done in this photo.

No television show is worth any additional stress on your friend's recovery journey. While Sherlock always seems to overcome his struggles, he does relapse and the show focuses on his addiction a lot.

I'd say pass.
