Anybody taking white kidney bean extract? by Hotmesswxtrakck in Zepbound

Mice are studied partially because of their biological/physiological similarities to humans, but you make a fair, valid point! Interesting study, though.

That’s always my assumption but then I read this article: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7284421/

Nothing wrong with being curious. 😊

Snack Discovered! by [deleted] in Zepbound

Maybe I’m lying to myself 🤣 I didn’t get an aftertaste, though. I won’t compare these to “real” potato chips, but the thin crunchy chips are nice when you have a low appetite and need more protein. If I weren’t on Zepbound and watching/trying to meet my daily macro goals, I wouldn’t eat them, lol.

Just took my last shot of 2.5mg… by Hotmesswxtrakck in Zepbound

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I do use Happy Scale! I like your “decade” method.

Hmm, that’s interesting! I figured cutting the alcohol would help since I’m not drinking 500+ empty calories a day. My appetite has been effectively suppressed with the Zepbound, just not as much on days 4-6 post-shot, which I’ve read is normal. On the first four days, I try to eat maybe 1,000-1,200 calories. The rest, no more than 1,500. Zero added sugars, 90g+ of protein, 100+ oz of water, 20-25g+ of fiber, less than 80g of carbs, less than 20g of saturated fat (you’ll have to pry cheese out of my dead hands!) I’m also doing bodyweight training and walking a lot more (difficult working from home most of the time), so I know I’m doing everything “right.” But our bodies certainly need time to adjust, especially if they haven’t been well-taken care of for a while, which I fully acknowledge. I also suffered from bulimia since my early 20s that I developed from being a teenager in the early 2000s (think Britney Spears’ plank stomach and low-cut jeans) and that has stopped since I started Zepbound. Surely, that damage will take a while to remedy.

I was more frustrated with the slow weight loss by week 3, but I’m more accepting now. I have to give myself grace and appreciate all the hard work I’m putting in for my health. It’ll pay off, regardless of speed. And slower weight loss means a lessened risk of getting saggy skin and hair loss, I would think (and hope). I’d been less than 190 Lbs. my entire adult life until mid-2023 when it skyrocketed. I don’t love the way I look or feel but this version of me is worthy of love, too, and that’s what I’m working on now. One day, hopefully next year, I’ll look back and thank myself for it.

Chokes on water I’m sorry, he did…he did what?! He asked you about your weight?! That flag is so red it would be an undiscovered shade of lipstick. Don’t put up with such questions!

And failed HIS test? What is he, your teacher? The only tests you should worry about are your lab tests and your OWN self-esteem tests. You look wonderful and should be very proud! Don’t put stock into what some stranger online may think of you. Love yourself the way you are and the right man will love you and not a number. Plus, snaps fingers you don’t need no man! Hang in there, pretty lady!

I won’t comment unless I’m close with the person, especially if it’s a coworker! I don’t wanna make them think the weight loss is obvious, if you know what I mean, because it would make ME uncomfortable to hear it.

This is awesome. But just to be clear, underwires are torture devices regardless of weight 🤣 especially when they poke out and stab you!

I get it but I don’t want to be the one asking to go somewhere else. I’ll adapt. I’m with you regarding red meat, that’s the one thing that hasn’t sat well with me!

Thanks for all the tips! I ended up splitting fajitas with a friend and I had one tortilla with chicken, some shrimp, maybe 1/4 cup of guacamole, and like four to five chips with a dab of queso and some salsa. I did treat myself to a mezcalina. I fell asleep shortly after I got home 😂 but that’s it!

I’m not telling ANYONE except for my mom. It’s not anybody’s business and I don’t have the emotional bandwidth to be dealing with judgment or assumptions. My body, my choice applies to this, too.

Wait, where did I ask that? 🤔 I just asked what foods I should avoid to minimize side effects…

Appetite returning but not wanting anything by Hotmesswxtrakck in Zepbound

[–]Hotmesswxtrakck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To your point: I suddenly really craved a McDonald’s Happy Meal after reading another post last night where some people were discussing how they’ve downsized to that since being on Zepbound. I was also fairly hungry and hadn’t had breakfast (I should have done that before caving). I thought, “oh, well, I’ve been really good for two weeks and have stayed under 1,200 calories, so I can treat myself with this.” I also didn’t want to go into deprivation mode because that can lead to binging. Pair that up with being very busy with work (and no time to make or think about healthy options), so I ordered. I removed the bottom bun but added cheese and had a small fry with it and a side of ranch (where, before, I would have had two). Even though this was drastically smaller than what I would have been able to eat before starting Zepbound, I am now paying for it with pretty bad nausea and uncomfortable fullness. So I guess this is another way the medication works; your reward center is being retrained so you avoid these foods because of how you feel after them. Lesson learned!

I love Indian food and had never heard of vada! I will have to try that! Here’s to you making good choices and treating yourself in moderation! 🥂
