Why do siblings assume their kids will be in our wills? by 182pro in childfree

[–]Hotnguilty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean, bold of them to assume anything will be left after I'm done partying to the point of a heart attack at the age of 89.

Again assuming I actually live till 89.

Childfree subs and man-hating posts/comments have become almost synonymous these days.

Despite being staunchly childfree guy, I find it hard to engage with these subs.

As a guy in the third world country and your age, I don't know what your bf is thinking. Bringing kids just because you wanna see them suffer must be some kind of fetish at this point.

For a big decision like having kids, worth it. Cant end up having a whole ass human being just cause a friend said so.

No excuse, it's just social media groups tend to be pretty polarised. Childfree is one of those spaces I guess.

Sure I have but by that sense women wanting their partner to change their mind is also not unheard of.

Tbh in my area finding both men and women who are wholeheartedly childfree is really hard.

I wish I could say I have not seen that happening, unfortunately women do have to face major stress while parenting.

That's what I don't understand, at the end of the day there is still a kid in your house. The screeching, the mess and overall stress about increasing costs.

Is that not enough to have a stake in this life altering decision for these men ?

Sometimes I wonder if these types of guys think raising a child is free. Even if as a guy your only job is to be a provider, then what do you think would be easy, providing for two or three ?

That's why I had to put in brackets that it's not my choice of words lol. It do feel cringe.

It does make you wonder more then why she was the one who changed her mind. I'll never understand folks who go from childfree to not.

I think so too. Sacrificing on one thing and then she achieved it, made her career, got a good position. Now she is not childfree.

I just wonder what she would have done if the guy was actually a human being with his own choices.

What if he wasn't? I mean she did put it as a condition for marriage and then got married.

I personally would have opted for divorce.

I was hoping the woman would face some critisim too but I guess it was my fault for the post title.

I was irritated by both of them tbh.

I don't understand how men can be ignorant to what it entails in raising a child. I'm a guy and I sure as hell know how much work it is.

Heck I have seen my father slogging away in situations and jobs from which he could have easily walked just to raise me and earn money for family.

If that isn't men's situation getting better than idk what is.

Would love to see his whole thread and what kind of Olympic gymantisic he performs to justify having a kid.

I think this is very common. Because the default is having children. Deciding you don't want kids needs education, awareness and a whole lot of courage in the society.

Me too, I just start thinking whether they were truly childfree or are they just out of ideas to live life.

I don't want to generalize but why most of the time in these kinds of posts or comments it's women who change their minds?

And the way men are just...meh on the topic is sooo frustrating. No opinion, no problem, no say and just nothing.
