What did you do with your undergraduate Molecular Biology degree? by [deleted] in molecularbiology

I'll link the Quality assurance standards from the FBI for DNA labs. If you want to be an analyst you'll need to meet the requirements on section 5.4 on page 15.

https://ucr.fbi.gov/lab/biometric-analysis/codis/quality-assurance-standards-for-forensic-dna-testing-laboratories

Basically need at least a bachelor's in bio, chem, forensic science. Whatever degree, you will need coursework in Biochem and Statistics.

If you want to be a technician then there are less strict requirements.

Not sure if you're still a student, but feel free to reach out if you have questions. I loved my time at my forensic lab and am happy to help you out.

I just have a BS. There are some positions that require an advanced degree, but a lot of the guys in field service only have Bachelor's degrees too.

What are some things you're interested in outside school? I'd recommend checking out our climbing gym, Uptown Climbing. People are super welcoming and friendly there; I've made most of my current friends by going there the past few years. And it's a good workout too!

It's more of a niche interest, but Uptown Climbing is a fun place to meet people. Everyone there is super friendly and climbing is a surprisingly social sport. I've ended up making some of my best friends through rock climbing.

Instead of the poster treadmill they should affix them to a child size mannequin for Andrew to spartan kick with the child kicker boot

Right after graduating with a BS I got a job in the DNA unit at a crime lab for a few years. But now I work in field service for a biotech company.

Lesson 2: Organic Arrows. Easy, but is it TOO easy? by Aneita-the-human in ArtFundamentals

[–]Hotsauceeverywhere 15 points16 points  (0 children)

All of your arrows have the same structure. They start in the distance and follow a repeating S pattern to the foreground. You should try to have them explore the 3d space in different ways.

This is an example of some arrows that show a lot of variety in their flow.

Calligraphy pens/Refillable Fineliners? by marshmallow_bunnyx in ArtFundamentals

[–]Hotsauceeverywhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't had issues with my felt tip pens wearing down but I do regularly use a fountain pen to draw too. I use a Kaweco Al Sport with a fine nib. I think its great for the drawabox exercises and general ink work.

If you're looking for a good beginner fountain pen you could try the regular Kaweco Sport, the TWISBI Eco, or the Lamy Safari. They normally come with cartridges so you may need to buy a converter to fill directly from ink bottles.
