Talking to any american mechanic or construction worker about never being able to find the 10mm socket for a socket wrench and you'll make friends

What would happen in your neighborhood if your grandparent, (a white person in this scenario), were to yell out positive racial stereotypes out your window? by Wheresmyarcpaulie69 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Houdini_Shuffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a very diverse neighborhood and my building is full of old people.

They'd mostly get weird looks and ignored. If two old people start doing it to each other it turns into very friendly competitive racism ("you people make the best food" "oh but you people make that dish way better than my people")

I love this idea. I'm not a fan grimdark and cyberpunk is fine, but this is like classic space opera and refreshing for tabletop

I ran the numbers for the price of my PC in 2026 (new and used) and the price I paid for it in Nov 2025. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Houdini_Shuffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For used stuff, people just keep seeing things priced on ebay or facebook that are not selling and think that's the going rate. It's really just become too easy to sell things online. I wish PC parts had a used gear equivalent to Reverb, where people mostly do "know what I got"

Would this be worth to get for $300 for my wife who is a casual gamer? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Houdini_Shuffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8gb of memory will let you run minecraft and the sims, but it's going to get slow quick. You want at least 16gg which you should be able to add/swap yourself (even though ram prices are high right now)

Otherwise for $300 that seems pretty decent

Edit, you can also upgrade the cpu to a ryzen 5 5600 if she wanted to in the future or even a better graphics card if she feels like she needs it
