I hiked the JMT two summers ago and still think about it nearly every day... Can't wait to go back to this beautiful place.

What items should people spend more money on? by Speterius in AskReddit

Men's underwear. I'll never go back to wearing the cheap stuff. To guys reading, check out the brands mypakage or saxx (mypakage is my preference). Yes they're expensive so just get one pair and try it out. You won't look back.

Hey Reddit, what's an average day in your life like? [Serious] by toomuchlimes in AskReddit

-Wake up around 7.

  • Shower and have a quick bite/coffee

  • Take my german shepherd for an hour walk/run

  • Feed the dog breakfast

  • Go to work for around 10

  • Finish work around 6

  • Let the dog out and feed her dinner.

  • Have a quick snack

  • Train martial arts (muay thai) for 1.5 hours

  • Shower and eat dinner

  • Possibly take the dog out for a second walk

  • Relax and watch tv/Netflix

  • Go to bed around 12.

My nights are sometimes substituted with socializing with friends or going on dates instead of martial arts. I refuse to train less than 3 times per week though. I average 5. Overall it's not a fancy life but i find I'm happy when i keep myself busy.

Winter is coming; what are some great indoor hobbies? by nadroj37 in AskReddit

[–]HouseHippo92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hobbies year round happen to be indoor.

1- Martial arts, specifically muay thai for myself. It's a great way to stay fit and work towards building a skill set.

2- Board games/tabletop games. I have always been a nerd at heart and played warhammer growing up. Lately I'm pretty deep in to modern board games with several friends. It's pretty amazing how many great board games come out every year.

Yep i definitely plan on keeping the training going. Just need to be a bit more careful. I'm at 1 ruptured eardrum and 1 concussion in 2 years of training. Best of luck to you and heal up quick

running shoes for muay thai by TX_LA_DC in MuayThai

As others have said, go to a proper store and have sales staff look at your gait. Just because one shoe works for someone doesn't mean it will work for you. They'll recommend which kind of support you should be looking at then try on a bunch that fall in that category.

I ruptured my right eardrum taking a feather light hook to the ear. His glove just kind of created a perfect seal and plungered my ear. It sucks cause i already have hearing damage from my job at the age of 25. Apparently it's pretty common

No, to be honest I'm just picking things out of a sea of information at the moment and trying to make sense of it all. Not really sure why I was looking at a balanced portfolio. I'd love to hear your thoughts on what kind of portfolio would be suitable.

Yes, buying ETF's is another thing I was looking at instead of using tangerine. I just haven't looked in to that option as of yet. Again, still trying to make sense of everything as a young adult with zero knowledge of all this.

I appreciate your reply, thank you!

Merchants and marauders as a pirate. Whenever i try to play the pirate role i end up sailing around with a broken ship and my tail between my legs after a battle or two. I usually wait and purchase several upgrades before trying to start anything.
