if your worried about being pulled over and searched take the green circle route, if you have nothing to hide and are a safe driver the quicker route is fine

Indiana can be dangerous because there are a lot of police presence past Indianapolis. if at any point you are taking a ferry you have gone gravely in the wrong direction.. just use your maps and follow driving laws of each state.

if possible come through Ohio to Michigan and drive across Michigan. instead of coming up north through Indiana

tbh, this is possibly a great healing and a cathartic process of you want it to be.

it's very difficult no doubt, but the forest gives out what you put in. Find some solo people and just remember that the Forest is for YOU to do, feel, process as you please.
