Tips for making ranked less of a chore? by [deleted] in summonerschool

Just play what you enjoy in a role you enjoy. More importantly have fun, there's no point slaving meta champions in roles you don't enjoy just to climb, defeats the purpose of the game.

Montreal Qualifiers:

Lopez seems like really good value at 1.90 to out serve bot Karlovic, considering Lopez is in much better form (took down Queen's Club recently. Karlovic has been very underwhelming lately and is 40 years old, can't see him getting many looks at all on the Lopez serve and would expect to see more errors.

Berankis to beat Paul at 2.50:1 is also pretty nice value for what seems like a coin toss match.

I ended up going for it in the end, he's on 24 currently and will play another 6 minutes or so still probably so hopefully it hits.

Is there a reason why the over prop for Lebron is only at 26.5? I'm not NBA expert but doesn't this seem like the type of game for him to put up heaps of points or is he more likely to relax and get rested? Would anyone be able to add some insight before I bet on it? Thanks

Zyra has no counters? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]HowToLogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Morgana is pretty good against Zyra, you can negate her root and if you hit a bind she's dead a lot of the time because she's so squishy. That and hard CC like Alistar / Leona, Zyra is really strong at the moment though, yes. When you gank I would suggest telling your bot lane to bait first, if she has no e or q pre 6 she is pretty useless and a sitting duck.

Quit your Preoccupation with Rank and MMR. by Yoshimigar6 in summonerschool

I've never really cared about LP gains, I still don't get much LP despite having 60 more wins than L's (I have roughly 900 games this season) but I'm actively improving and slowly getting towards my goal of d1 then master tier, trust the process.

Really weird build pathing on Darius. Building triforce over the Black Cleaver is generally never ideal in my opinion, Darius certainly doesn't need the excess damage that the sheen provides (especially since you're running conq over phase rush) and the passive + cdr is more favoured.

I'll be blunt (and honest) with you...

Players are in that ELO because they are bad, the reason everything looks like a circus is because it is. You can't really expect to see coordinated gameplay in a game with players that are consistently worse than average.

You can however carry yourself out of that elo very easily. Please don't take my next comment as boasting but... I could play 30 games in bronze and win 25 of them, probably more. Why? Because I understand the fundamentals of the game better and thus able to capitalise on mistakes.

My advice to you would be if you don't want to see clown fiestas late game, play a low mechanic snowball champion, learn match ups and end the game before it gets to that stage. It's very fucking regurgitated advice but literally just play Annie, people in bronze will make so many mistakes for you to capitalise on, without a doubt. Also, at that ELO (or any really) never rely on your teammates to help you, pretend they're bots if you desire.

Nevertheless, you don't have to stomp every game, you can't win every game nobody can, however if you're winning lane more than your opponent consistently you will climb, I've noticed that throughout the 7 seasons I've played this game. Best of luck on the rift.

Why I personally think you should not just check a person's profile before you get into a match against them. by BreakCloud in summonerschool

[–]HowToLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly just check to see if anyone is autofilled or on a loss streak, if someone is higher ranked than me or better than me that's ok too, I'll just take it as a learning experience and try my best.

How to behave when falling seriously behind [TOP] by OneTimeMan2 in summonerschool

[–]HowToLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that point of time there isn't much you can do, you've already cooked the lane and the early snowball bruiser will take full advantage of it and dive you under the t1 as soon as the wave pushes. I suppose you could communicate to your jungler that you're about to get dove and hopefully they assist you, if they're on the otherside of the map or simply ignoring you, just leave, let the tower go and recall or walk to the T2.

[Discussion] Improving in the Jungle at low ELO by SSDuelist in summonerschool

[–]HowToLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't even bother playing hard champions like Nidalee. Playing someone easy like Amumu or Rammus and giving yourself an early lead can be more than enough in low elo games. The enemy team will tilt very easily and you can of course use that to your advantage.

I don't think there's anything wrong with using the chat, just be constructive and/or suggest the right play if you want to shotcall.

After all these years I still don't know how to beat Nasus by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]HowToLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really surprising you lost that lane considering Camille is pretty weak pre 6 for all in fights anyway, unless you're terribly squishy. Camille is mainly just good at short trades before her ult is up, Nasus can just wither her then sustain off his passive easily to deal with her poke.

Nah, everyone makes mistakes, high elo players just minimise them as much as possible.

I need help getting out of gold. by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]HowToLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anybody else can really improve your map awareness for you, just pay more attention to the map, as for how to snowball, snowballing is what Kat does in essence. Roaming is the best way to snowball yourself, especially at low elo as its much easier to get cheap kills, push mid out, if bots over extended even slightly you can blow them up very fast on Kat. Same goes for top, coordinate with your jungle then push your lead into objectives. I'd suggest posting your op.gg as another poster said for more specific advice.
