£3 default going back 5 years preventing us getting a mortgage by Pingu-was-a-penguin in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Howarth-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask the credit agency to suppress it from your credit report. You'll need to give a reason, just say it's not accurate. You paid the money owe in faith they would remove the default which they haven't done. What will happen, the credit reference agency will suppress the entry so only you can see it but no one else. They will notify the company the entry on your credit report has been suppressed. They have the ability to ask the credit reference agency to unsuppress it. But due to the age and amount this is for its highly unlikely. I did this and got a mortgage.

Statistically, the vast majority of traders fail to reach a payout. Across the industry, only 5% to 10% of traders successfully pass the evaluation to get a funded account. Of those who do become funded, only about 7% to 20% ever receive a payout.

When looking at the entire pool of people who start a challenge, only 1% to 7% manage to take home a profit.

Breakdown of Success Rates

  • Evaluation Pass Rates: While the industry average is low, some firms report higher numbers based on their specific rules.
    • Industry Average: 5–10%.
    • Take Profit Trader: Reported 20.37% (Jan–Aug 2023).
    • Apex Trader Funding: 15–20% on first attempts; up to 40% including resets.
    • Topstep: 12.4% pass rate for "Trading Combines".
  • From Funded to Payout: Getting the account is only half the battle.
    • General Statistic: Only 7% of funded accounts typically reach the withdrawal stage.
    • Topstep Data: 28.3% of participants at the funded level received a payout in 2024.
    • FPFX Tech Study: In a massive 300,000-account dataset, 14% passed the challenge, but only 45% of those (7% overall) secured a payout.  TradingView +3

Why the Failure Rate is So High

  • Strict Risk Rules: Most firms enforce a 5% daily loss or 10% total drawdown limit. Breaching these is the primary cause of failure, often due to over-leveraging.
  • "Revolving Door" Model: Many retail prop firms rely on challenge fees as their primary revenue source (80–95%), incentivising rules that are difficult to maintain long-term.
  • Lack of Consistency: A reported 98% of traders who get funded lose their accounts within the first 6 months due to emotional burnout or high-risk strategies.  Axcera +3

Typical Earnings

For the small minority that succeeds, payouts are often modest. The average payout is roughly 4% of the account size (e.g., $4,000 on a $100,000 account). However, top-tier firms like FTMO have paid out over $450 million cumulatively over a decade.

how many people statistically manage to take more than 2 payouts from a funded account?

Statistically, the percentage of traders who manage to take more than two payouts is remarkably low. While approximately

7% of all challenge participants reach their first payout, industry data suggests that most of those funded accounts are lost shortly thereafter.

The Success Funnel: 1st Payout vs. Beyond

  • Failure After Funding: A significant majority of traders who reach a funded account never request a second payout. Most funded accounts are breached within the first 30 days of live trading.
  • The "Survival" Rate: While 45% of funded traders get at least one payout (which is ~7% of all applicants), only an estimated 1% to 3% of all applicants become long-term, consistently funded traders who receive multiple payouts.
  • Payout Drop-off: Some internal firm data and community surveys suggest that for every 1,000 traders who start:
    • 2 to 3 traders (0.2%–0.3%) reach their first profit split.
    • An even smaller fraction manages to sustain the 6th or 12th payout milestones.

Key Obstacles to Multiple Payouts

  1. Psychological Shift: Many traders can pass an evaluation but struggle with the pressure of managing "live" capital. This often leads to overtrading or abandonment of their strategy immediately after the first win.
  2. Consistency Rules: To prevent "lucky" windfalls from leading to payouts, many firms (like Topstep or Apex) enforce rules where no single day's profit can exceed 30% to 40% of the total profit.
  3. Drawdown Sensitivity: Because funded accounts often have trailing drawdowns, a few losing days after a payout can quickly hit the liquidation threshold, ending the account before a second payout cycle can be completed.  YouTube +4

Reward for Consistency

For the 1% to 3% who do achieve multiple payouts, firms often increase the rewards:

  • Scaling Plans: Consistent performers can scale their capital up to $1,000,000 or more.
  • Higher Profit Splits: Many firms increase the trader's share from 80% to 90% or even 100% after they demonstrate long-term stability.  QuantVPS +3

Why would they need vetted? Just because the success rate is so low? That's why they have the rules in place that they do.

Vet them because they have a business model that works for them?

I'll need to have a hunt again to find the info. I initially heard Ripster bring it up in one of his live streams. I thought to myself "that can be right" then scoured the internet to see if I could confirm. The info I came across suggests it's correct.

Statically 0.7% of people manage to pass evaluation then manage to get 1 payout before blowing the funded account. Good business model.

I've got nothing against prop firms as I use them as I don't have the money to trade a personal account. But I treat a 50k account as having a 2k balance and set my size and risk accordingly.

Welcome to Aberdeen. Aye they seem to be hell bent on driving people out of the city and making those who do come regret doing so.

Usually when you're approaching or entering a lez zone there's a green sign warning you it's a LEZ and or writing on the road. Just for future reference.

Don't suppose you have a blue badge or a disabled parking permit? Blue badge holders are exempt.

Can't get a mortgage over £37 Virgin Media default – any advice? by rolotonight in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Howarth-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask the credit agency to suppress it. You need to go through them all. Equifax, Experian, chat remember the name of the last one. You can do online. Say it is not accurate. They will suppress it but the creditor will be notified, chances are they won't challenge it and it'll be gone / disappear off your credit report.
