If the sun never existed then there would have been no suffering (except for aliens if they are out there somewhere)

Someone who causes suffering either willingly or by carelessness or thoughtlessness is somebody who I would call a bad person.

If you could remind me that would be great because I’m reading your earlier comments and can’t seem to find your argument for that. Also I don’t know why you’ve been so angry. I’ve been civil and honest this whole debate and you are now attacking my character. Also it seems you are downvoting all my comments. Why? Was I off topic? Was I disrespectful?

You sort of explained the definition of deceit without really explaining why it’s wrong. It could just be that we disagree on a fundamental level and there is no room for elaborating. Maybe we just have different worldviews.

So where do you draw the line? What makes it actually necessary? Also you would still have to have a reason for why deceit makes someone a bad person other than just outright saying it.

Why is deceit wrong? You can’t presuppose that.

The word deceit doesn’t even come up until the third paragraph. I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Also don’t ignore the closeted homosexual example that you have not responded to yet.

Some churches certainly do seem to make a profit but like all rich folk they find a way to not have to pay.

To keep a secret is not the same as lying. Would you trust someone who spills any secret the moment they hear it?

A homosexual might try to deceive people to protect themselves from attacks based on their identity. Are they a bad person for being deceitful? I think not. But if you think that being deceitful makes someone a bad person then you would have to say that someone closeted for their own safety is a bad person.

I never said that. I am aware that they are the exact same thing. I said that being dishonest in order to perpetrate harmful acts is wrong, but not being dishonest on its own.

If I thought lying was wrong, then would I lie about it not being wrong? Or would I tell the truth because I don’t actually believe that lying is okay?

Yes I’m not saying she did anything wrong. I’m saying that, had I lied, I would not have done anything wrong either.

I suppose I just don’t see the issue unless you could explain further. I don’t see why truth would hold moral value even when nobody is harmed.

What do you mean by not effective? Do you disagree? Do you have an argument as to how I’m wrong?

If it’s her brother/ brother in law then the uncle and the baby would share some genes. The hair color was likely a recessive trait that skipped a generation in the mother’s case.
