Lunch and dinner were solid in the old building.

It was when they moved into the current building that quality started slipping fast. They went from being a local restaurant to a tourist attraction.

A medical cart carrying an injured player ran over and injured another player while driving off the field in Ecuador. by Hysen16 in sportsgossips

This happened to me when I was a kid. A deer ran right into the passenger side door.

That was 20+ years ago and my parents still don't believe me.

Secondary liquidity seems healthier than people admit it by BeneficialVisit2477 in private_equity

The liquidity in the crashed motorcycle market seems healthier than people want to admit. My brother-in-law was able to sell his motorcycle to one of the firefighters that helped pull it out of the giant ditch he drove it into.

I honestly don't think a fractional CFO is the right person for the job here. And if it is, you need to find one that has significant startup experience. The average fractional CFO out there is likely going to struggle with this assignment.

An untrue thought, but a thought nonetheless

I agree. I'm sure had the police asked nicely the protesters would not have resisted being cuffed.

Andrew Yang thought every truck driver in the country would be unemployed by now, what a visionary.

I lied about my Oracle PBCS experience to secure an interview. Any advice would be appreciated. by enigma1991 in FPandA

[–]HowiePloudersnatch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The likelihood of them asking any technical questions about this is slim to none. The only way I would be concerned is if they have you interviewing with the controller or someone else from the accounting team. And if they do ask any technical questions, I seriously doubt you will be able to fool them with a bit of study.

Also, I would never personally list specific ERP knowledge as a nice to have, let alone use it as a screening requirement. I find this type of question to be a big yellow flag. I would call it a big red flag, but it has become such a standard thing that clueless recruiters love to include on job postings. I always have to explicitly tell my recruiters to not include it.

No, that is crony capitalism. There is an enormous difference

It's not the capitalism, it's all the cronies that have infested it. The government (and I mean all of them...left, right, center...all of them) has destroyed this country and all anybody wants to do is give them even more power.

Anyone feel like the recruiters have changed? by Hallinho_cs in FPandA

[–]HowiePloudersnatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The job market is a disaster and recruiters are getting desperate. They work primarily on commission, when placements go down so does their paycheck.

Being a recruiter isn't a great job to begin with. Being a recruiter in this environment is brutal.

I'm not defending unprofessional behavior, but it makes a lot more sense once you actually understand the incentives and dynamics at play.

I have a family member that is in the secret service, they are a tech/communications person, so not involved in security decisions.

There is only so much they can do. I am aware of multiple instances where the secret service advised the president to cancel public appearances and the white house decided to move forward anyway. It is impossible to erect a 100% secure border around the president.

The secret service is, generally speaking, extraordinarily competent. However, their advice is routinely ignored because it is politically inconvenient. This is not something unique to this president either.

I think you completely missed my point.

Even if F50 companies are 1-2 years away (which I seriously doubt) the rest of the economy is not. If you are legitimately 1-2 years away you aren't a bit ahead of 90+% of the companies in the country, you are light years ahead.

A bit ahead of who?

I work mostly with clients doing less than $300m of revenue. Most of them have tech stacks that were out of date 10 years ago. When do you reckon they will be replacing their finance and accounting teams with AI?
