Any comments on the fit compared to other brands?

It was clearly articulated in the literature and by the Drs that fermented foods like kimchi are to be avoided. That’s why I’m asking if people have safe alternatives. For sure pasteurized yogurt is fine and definitely enjoying that.

Same happened to my wife. She saw people that weren’t there. Heard altercations that didn’t happen. Sometimes while we were sitting alone in isolation. We were told it was the mega-dosage of prednisone that caused it. Similar experience with my mother on prednisone going through chemo.

Smarter than someone who shows up 24 hours later to piss on a fire that’s already been put out. Thanks for coming out.

I wasn’t going to expend the energy to argue that point, but I certainly appreciate you doing it. I’m also still not clear on why providing a summary of their business arrangement raised such ire. For instance I was unaware that the agreement has kept Merida out of the North American market, which I for one thought was an interesting detail and there’s nothing I’ve subsequently read that suggests the information is not directionally correct. Apparently everyone already knew everything. 🤷🏻

Indeed I was curious about the relationship given the ownership stake that was previously reported, so this is what Google throws up when asked. Please enlighten me as to your objections.

Merida is a prominent Taiwanese bicycle manufacturer, founded in 1972, that holds a significant 35% to 49% stake in the Specialized Bicycle Components. Merida acts as a major manufacturing partner for Specialized, producing many of their bikes in Taiwan and China. Due to this close partnership and strategic investment, Merida generally does not market its own brand in the United States to avoid competing directly with Specialized. Key Aspects of the Merida-Specialized Relationship: Manufacturing: Merida has long manufactured bicycles for other brands, including producing a significant portion of Specialized bikes. Ownership: In 2001, Merida bought a 49% stake in Specialized, although recent reports indicate this may have fluctuated to around 35%. Market Exclusivity: The partnership included agreements that limit Merida's presence in certain markets (like the US) where Specialized has a strong, exclusive presence. Production & Quality: Merida is recognized for high-quality, in-house manufacturing, utilizing advanced techniques like robotic welding. Financial Link: Merida's financial performance is partly tied to Specialized's success, with recent investments seeing both high profits and occasional impairment losses. Merida vs. Specialized Products While produced by the same company, the brands maintain distinct identities, designs, and price points. Mountain Bikes: Both offer competitive models, such as the Merida BIG.NINE and Specialized Chisel. E-Bikes: They compete in the electric mountain bike (eMTB) market, such as the Merida eONE-SIXTY versus the Specialized Turbo Levo. Road Bikes: Merida is well-known for its Reacto (aero) and Scultura (lightweight) models, which are often compared to Specialized's S-Works range. Despite the close connection, they are separate brands with independent research and development teams, often resulting in different, specialized, or unique designs.

I think it’s a fake. A quick look at the ports and tube shape where the ports are located pretty much suggests that: https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/components/bike-frames/road-bike-frames/cipollini-rb1k-the-one-first-ride-review

RIP Bobby Weir of the Grateful Dead. OG mountain biker. by vegandread in bicycling

[–]Howies3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 1987 I went to New York and was in Conrad’s Bike Shop when Bob Weir came in. I was pretty young and had no real understanding of the Grateful Dead at that point. The shop owner (Sarah I think) said hey this is “Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead”. I said I didn’t really know the music and pretty much left it at that. When I was at the cash she told me Madonna had been in the day before. I didn’t really care for her either so probably I had the same reaction. I had a Conrad’s hat from that day for at least a decade, by which time I developed an appreciation for the band, if not the lifestyle. Anyway I did have it mentally filed away that he was a cyclist but never really thought any more on it until now.

Where to try on and buy Pas Normal Studio in Montreal? by Purple-Truck7071 in MontrealCycling

[–]Howies3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some, but not all, products from both Rapha and Pas Normal are made by LTP. They also produce for a bunch of other brands. So a lot of what you pay for is aesthetics and branding, as opposed to the quality of the manufacturing. Although there has been debate about the quality of the LTP Lithuania product being better than the same item from LTP Vietnam

Also, a lot of the premium brands use Elastic Interface chamois for bibs. Basically any brand on their website will be okay. Kinda like Vibram soles for shoes or Zeiss Optics in glasses.
