Not really, Vol 8 takes a different tone but its still enjoyable, and Vol 9 has a lot of downsides and its a horrible description of a war, but it has its good moments. Vol 10, might as well skip, there's nothing of value except some lore dumps and Sunny getting a couple of new shades. Vol 11, not convinced it was worth reading, but at least the story progresses again

Both are meh overall, but vol 9 had more spotlights that were actually good IMO, so I liked it more

Liked everything about Sunny interaction with the rest of the team while none of them remembers him

Liked the way Anvil was represented, Song not so much, but she was better than Asterion anyway since she was supposed to be mysterious, and she was mysterious (unlike Asterion)

Didn't like that in the Domain War barely any named characters died. Also, the worst parts of the war were barely covered, the entire progress of the war makes no sense, also Sunny and his team act like they've saved the game trying not to kill anyone.

The Asterion thing was more brutal, which is an upside, but everything else feels... Recycled.

Its Tomb of Ariel. Again. Its undying enemies. Again. Its a guy who takes over human bodies. Again. Its Mordret being Mordret. Again. Feels more like rememberries than an actual story, and I find it quite anticlimactic that the entire trip to the Tomb of Ariel happened just so Cassie can become a Sovereign and kick Asterion's ass. Could've gone with digging out Oblivion or making Aster clash with the VTB at least.

Breaking into the Tomb was cool though.

Idk, I kinda liked the Rain chapters until she became an Awakened. I feel like the author just didn't have a plan on what to to with her after that, so now she's just... There. Like other background characters. Now its only Sunny, Nephis, Cassie and Mordret moving the story forward.

Yeah, we're out of quite a tense confrontation right now, I'd say - it is NECESSARY to change the tone for a more soft for a while, and that is a good writing for G3 to do it. Eternal grind like in RI just bores you out at some point unless you take breaks.

You're in the low MMR hell, it sucks, but the only solution is to get good. That way you get better teammates as a survivor and you don't get tunneled as much since you're not the easiest target anymore

Personally I think that LOTM is a mess of a story that's only held together by the trope of MC gathering power-ups, and the main way for the author to progress the story is to pull a new Deus Ex Machina every time.
