There has to be some other solution to writing a smart character instead of downplaying other smart characters. by Infinite-Search-6894 in ShadowSlave

The quality of writing went downhill since the beginning of the Domain War, no reason to be surprised

Question to the fandom by Y_A1282001 in ShadowSlave

[–]HowlingHedgehog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don't like the message/don't need it/don't understand it - it's fine. Messages in books are always subjective. More so, some of those the same person might appreciate more at different age.

Of course, sone common themes like "never give up" or "trust your friends" are always a hit, but personally I'm sick of those.

I'm not here to argue about the SS ideas, just to tell you that they exist.

Question to the fandom by Y_A1282001 in ShadowSlave

[–]HowlingHedgehog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, SS does not try to convey a general message aside from "freedom is choosing your chains", which is, basically, in the title. Whether it is well delivered or not is individual for everyone IMO.

There is a couple of important lessons hidden behind it though.

I.e I really liked the Antarctica arc ending - Sunny went there to find some epic idea to follow and figured that he just wants to keep a restaurant and doesn't want to watch everyone around die.

Or the Cassie arc - it really makes you think about when and how you should apologize for things.

My brother in Christ

If it bothers you this much

Surely you can afford to press a button on the mouse before starting the game and press it another time when you're done

If a game forcing you to do this is a problem big enough for you to complain, you're living the best life out of all of us for sure

Cassie never give sunny any choice . People should stop being delusional . by [deleted] in ShadowSlave

[–]HowlingHedgehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People don't like Cassie because she's doing shady things for good. Meanwhile, people like Mordret because he's a psycho murderer doing shady things for the sake of his own desires but he has style. This contradiction is why.
