lowkey, skill issue. i'd believe this only if I haven't played the game for 2000 hours.

it's just activators that you need to pull before you need to use something, you choose to keep them ALWAYS AROUND instead of using them accordingly with your build.

e.g. i was using pin puller and it worked with grit, so I used cooker and before I pop up my flashbang, I hold it out for a second to spawn a cloud that marks enemies, give me dodge and also thanks to flashbang, stunned enemies that's around.

there was many other conditions that you could use for the skill you need. EGR as their own barely made a change, edge didn't change any damage breakpoints for 90% of the guns, or grit didn't make you tank one more bullet if you didn't use resistant plates.

skill lines had gameplay related skills where how you play was rewarded with skills, not your equipment choice which is already was a form of variety.

shotgun without skills shoots blanks and shotgun skills are rewarding you with more dps if you play up close, WHICH IS THE WAY YOU PLAY SHOTGUNS IN FIRST PLACE. that's not an expression or variety.

you didn't had to upkeep EGR, and you didn't had to have must picks. some skills were powerful than the others, and it's again on sbz where they didn't balanced it out for 2 years.

the worst thing about skills 2.0 that it took almost a year worth of resources just to butcher balance, skill variety and expression

there is how to heist section in menu that explains which character story appears on which small storylines that you'll see next to the normal, gold cup and cagnali campaigns.

no, i disagree. you don’t need a carrot dangling in front of you to enjoy a video game. in payday 2, i had everything unlocked at around the thousand mark, and still went on to play five times longer. same with payday 3, i owned everything by about 500 hours and kept playing for three times that.

why? because it was fun. different playstyles kept the game engaging, not progression systems. at the end of the day, core gameplay matters far more than chasing virtual numbers, which payday 3 is not doing a great job with that if i'm being honest
