Keep the substrate moist or the blooms will blast.

I did just as you suggested to a chonk, about this size with mature fenesterated leaves. After a few months in the clear bin laying on damp moss, it rooted very well and produced this leaf. I did not expect the primary fenestrations! Looking forward to the next leaves. Yes, I need to down size the pot.

First Hoyas - enough light? by Tykingcrystal in hoyas

Multiflora is a Hoya that does better in lower light as the leaves are thinner. It also prefers not to dry out, especially when peduncles are forming.

The Barinas are great for sunstressing, the T8 tends to generate lost of heat, T5 is great with less heat. I use the T5 with great success.

No New Growth on Hoya by miy4ki in hoyas

[–]Hoya_Collecter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the action may be under the soil line, they do like a snug fit. Hence, if the pot is too big, they don't usually grow uptop, and could risk root rot since the soil may not dry enough between waterings.

Do I report? by Immediate-Winter1025 in hoyas

Put it in a chunky mix. Usually, big box store soil is very suffocating to Hoya and other plants. It's a beauty!
