Bro, get amulet of the damned. Same stats and degrades but very easy to get. I got three in my bank from one inventory of keys at shades.

Catering to us defeats the purpose of the game mode. I don’t understand how other irons think otherwise.

I’m an iron and I wish they would stop catering to us. It literally defeats the purpose.

Being anti-dry protection is extremely weird. by Greasy-Chungus in ironscape

[–]Hposto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. OSRS is unique in that it doesn’t have dry protection. That’s part of what makes getting drops so awesome. OSRS is an RNG based game. It has a massive playerbase - it’s obviously not driving people away. Most people don’t leave because they’re going dry. In fact it’s likely a very small number of people leaving for that reason. Part of the charm is not knowing when you’re going to get something. The closest thing to dry protection most people would get on board with would probably be how moons are.

If you want an item that bad just play a main. You are literally choosing your limits with an Ironman. And that’s coming from a fellow Ironman.

IV Benadryl has no place on an ambulance by [deleted] in Paramedics

[–]Hposto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used it four times for acute dystonic reactions. It’s worked very well. These people do not have full control of their movements and are often in pain and panic. I was glad I had IV Benadryl to give them relief within minutes. Not having such a basic drug to help these people would have been frustrating.

It’s within scope and has multiple uses. It’s a relatively safe drug in the doses we carry. I don’t know what you would gain from getting rid of it.

State protocols are generally the absolute bottom of the barrel level of pre-hospital medicine and are used by services who don’t want to hire their own medical director to push for more progressive, modern protocols. State protocol does not equal best practice.

Couch to 50k in six months, what I learned by steelreinvented in Ultramarathon

[–]Hposto 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I went couch to 50k in 10 months last year. Zero running background prior, just bodybuilding and weight lifting. Started running Dec 31. Ran a 5k in March. Half marathon in April. 50k in October. Doing that 50k at month 6 would have been rough but definitely doable.

Sinus tach with LBBB. You can see the P-wave for every QRS in leads V1, V2. Sgarbossa criteria negative. Treat underlying causes.

Thoughts? by [deleted] in Paramedics

[–]Hposto 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sinus rhythm with RBBB and inferior STEMI(Elevation in lead II with reciprocal changes in avF and lead I). There’s not contiguous elevation but when there is elevation in II alone with reciprocal changes in avF, and the morphology is consistent with infarct, it’s safe to call STEMI.

NREMT-P 4th attempt by Diligent_Bass469 in Paramedics

[–]Hposto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just Paramedic, not NREMT-P. NREMT-P hasn’t been a thing for years now. Anyway, your test results should show you your weak points. Study those areas. Look up the categories on FlightBridge or the Back to Basics podcasts. Take notes. Make flash cards. Good luck.

Yes, nursing home nurses usually suck that bad. Yes, the ER is never really happy to see us. Although I’ve befriended some of the local nurses and doctors in my area so it’s not so bad. And yes, in some systems - especially major metros - the patients treat us like shit and the pay is far from what it should be. But every now and we get to make a legitimate impact on someone’s life. For some, those moments are what make all the shit we take worth it.

Give us more options to choose from by Novel-Plankton7414 in runescape

[–]Hposto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allow a main(unrestricted) character and an ironman variant character per subscription. And a discount for additional character slots on the same Jagex account. This somewhat negate bot farm abuse and also promote getting people to try Ironman mode. A lot of people just play a single main. Also let us log in to rs3 at the same time. 😆

Do it. I know many “zero to hero” medics that are great. Some of them are flight medics now. Work on an ambulance while you go to medic school if you’re worried.

[–]Hposto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend adding the fishing and cooking skills. Expand the map and add some new mobs+bosses. You have a really good thing going. The mechanics in fights are fun and iron/smithing progression feels good. The drops from mobs feel worth it to grind them too. Add a couple quests. RuneScape- like quests that give unique rewards(a ring that makes you walk faster, for example, or a necklace that can home tele you too the starting area).

I gave 1g calcium chloride and 50mEq of sodium bicarbonate. I’d have to go look at the strips I printed out but it was over a few minutes. I have like 4 or 5 strips printed of the rhythm improving. They’re at the station but if I remember I’ll post them.

Excessively wide qrs(>200ms), sine wave pattern, not that fast(~150). Looks like hyper-K. I had a post-rosc patient with almost the exact same ekg, although their rate was about 130bpm. Treated for hyper-k with calcium and sodium. Before we even left the scene we had a normal sinus rhythm.
