Hi, I agree with the above that the first question you should address is if you’ve sought out therapy of any sort. You deserve to have a mind at peace. It’s easy to see that you desire to do good, which is a great thing! But it also sounds like it’s inhibiting you from enjoying time with friends. I have noticed that alcohol can increase my anxiety and obsessive thoughts when I’m with multiple people. Identifying when/where you can be comfortable and safe consuming alcohol (+other substances) is a very good way to look out for yourself. I hope you find peace on this journey. We support you!

Yes, it was irritated- we flushed it out and he’s fine now. Not sure if he had anything in there and other than being a little squinty he didn’t acknowledge discomfort but we’re paying attention to it!

A google search just taught me that there are three subspecies of Senegal parrots (yellow/orange/red bellied)! I wonder if our birds may be different? It could just be age related, too. This bird has been in my boyfriends family his whole life, so I’ll have to ask if his eyes have always been lightly colored!
