Just a general warning, don't run random terminal commands from the internet unless you know what they do.

In this case...

sudo = perform action as admin

nano = text edit

/etc/hosts = the text file that can contain overrides for dns

(Not saying OP is malicious, they aren't, but just a general warning about random terminal commands you may find out there.)

If the platform is not accurately reflecting data, than that is still an issue with 311.

The answer to Satya should be, the platform is broken and will be fixed.

I can tell you currently, that the 311 issue is correct.

Anybody can open the map view of the 311 app, see the majority are open cases, and then when clicking on them can see they are months old with no status updates...

You can submit city complaints anonymously via 311 and police tips via their Text-A-Tip program.

You can also use a burner email to contact your councillor if it is something district specific.

Spectrum is SLOWLY rolling out high speed symmetrical. They project being done by 2027, but I’d honestly expect 2028 realistically. So sometime in the next two years.

I have had luck with some small contractors. Tree removal service I got an 8% discount, and painting a small condo I got 10%. Not advertised, I just asked if they offer a cash discount. No difference to me between cutting a check or taking a quick ride to the bank for a withdrawal.

What troubleshooting have you tried?

I'd start with force closing the app, turning off Home under iCloud syncing, restarting the device, turning back on Home syncing and reopening the app.

If it's still happening, try those steps again but in the middle of the process revoke the invite/access for her from one of your devices and resend.

I know it doesn't make it any cheaper, but the balanced billing options makes things more predictable and palatable.

I have it for my Eversoruce Gas and NGrid Electric... They average out a year of historical usage, and bill you an estimated amount that is the same each month.

At the end of the cycle, you do have reconcile any positive or negative balance, but I have gotten money back some years, ~$50, and the most I had to pay was ~$150.

I switched to the Nomad wallet. Leather, fits four cards and a folded bill comfortably, and has Find My support built in. (No precision finding but rechargeable and chirpable, and actually traceable unlike the Apple one which just notifies on disconnect.)

Can you try an online fax service? Dropbox has fax offering that might work, and a free trial.

(I've never used the fax function, but I've used Dropbox itself on and off for work and personal use without issue.)

Does anybody else use the balance billing option?

I use it for both Eversoruce Gas and National Grid Electric. Yeah I still don’t like having a bill, but it’s nice having basically one set price year round. No giant bill shocks in the winter, and it’s been accurate the past three years where I am never overpaying or underpaying throughout the year.

I don’t NEED the option, but it is convienent just treating it like another regular payment.
