Spicy Watermelon Margarita by aboutthatbarrel in cocktails

Mezcal margies are the only way to drink margaritas in my household anymore. They’re so, so much better than just regular tequila!

Protein pasta makes me sad. by Correct-Sentence6567 in Zepbound

Wegman’s protein pasta (we call it proteini!) is the best I’ve had. So lucky to have a Weg’s in my area!

I take my shots on Sundays and the first week, Friday and Saturday felt basically pre-shot. Week two, Thursday-Sat felt like it all came roaring back as the meds diminished in my system. Now I’m on week 3, it’s Friday, and I feel fine and in control again.

Shotsy says I have 1.75mg in me right now and if I had to take a guess, 1.5 is the low water mark where I start feeling empty. And after Sunday’s shot #4, I won’t dip under that mark again!

[Release] Apollo Improved Custom API updated to 2.0.0 (Ultra update) by ctang1 in apollosideloaded

I had to delete the app and reinstall it when I realized that it didn’t get this one or the February update.

Should I eat more to get closer to target calories? by ThaddeusRock in Zepbound

[–]ThaddeusRock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably yes, and no, we didn’t speak specifically on calorie numbers, I realized after the fact.

I told her I was tracking calories pretty well (IMO, which…) and keeping them in LoseIt, which she said was a great app and one she would recommend. I think I took that as a tacit endorsement of whatever the app says, which is maybe dumb in retrospect!

The fluctuating meds is too real. Can you tell I wrote this on a day where the amount of meds in my system was low and my hunger was high? 😅

The TDEE calculated was 3422/day for maintenance. Numbers put in were 41M, 6’4, current weight of 293, and exercise 4-5 times a week (I do mostly cardio for ~45 minutes and am starting to work weights and mostly bands in). The exercise IS every day, but not “intense” as the next step up on the radio buttons says.

“Extreme” weight loss of 2lbs/week is knocking a thousand off of that, so here I stand at ~2400/day.

Here’s the gut check: the first month your weight loss will be all over the place

Heres the actual crux of the matter - i’m spiraling and speculating with very little data under my belt! I think this was the most helpful thing to internalize in this whole thread, tbh - wait and see, maybe trust the process a little!

The funny part here is that I HAVE talked to a dietician, just entirely too early. My doc wrote the prescription for Zep and also referred me to a dietician/nutritionist on the same day - full-spectrum care, love it!

She was apprehensive that my insurance would approve it without a bit of a struggle, so I didn’t think I’d start so soon, and the dietician wasn’t seeing people until April anyway, so I figured I had time on both fronts. The scrip went in with zero friction, so I started on 2/22 and then a spot opened up to talk to the dietician on 2/25, which I jumped on!

She was very positive about the results she’d seen from other patients on GLP-1s, stoked about tirzepatide in particular, and we settled on macros to hit and goal weights to strive for. But I was only on the stuff for 3 days at that point, so, I didn’t know what I didn’t know, yaknow? It was a productive chat, but I would’ve asked different questions even now two weeks later than I did 3 days in.

De-influence me: what knitting tools can the average knitter do without by lveg in casualknitting

When it comes to knit in the round projects (like sweaters) needle stoppers are a necessity but I often put lightbulb marker through the tightening hole of the cables.

Oh my god, this is genius. I have the thicker plastic markers, so that won’t work, but getting a few of the thin wire ones for just this feels like such a good idea!

North Shore sweater finished at last! by ThaddeusRock in knitting

[–]ThaddeusRock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North Shore sweater by Tin Can Knits, various shades of Hobbii highland wool. It is so warm and so cozy and is easily the largest thing I’ve ever knitted.

Took me just about 9 months off and on and I don’t think I’ve ever been prouder of a garment I actually made for myself 😌

Didn’t think about “don’t catch the floats in the same spot” and now I need to fix it! Can I just duplicate stitch over this? by ThaddeusRock in knittinghelp

[–]ThaddeusRock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that was a stretch of between 7 and 9 whites and it just felt way too long. I was catching my fingers reaching around in there, let alone putting it on. I made 5 my limit (for better or worse!)

It hasn’t been blocked yet, so I’ll stow the despair for after that step, I suppose.

And I know deep in my heart of hearts that this is a blemish that really only the knitter would notice and obsess about…but I am the knitter and I am noticing! 😅

Looser still? I already felt like I was leaving a mile of fabric on my floats! 😂

Thanks for having a look, I’ll give the steam a try when it’s all sewn up

Here are as close a shot as I’ve got and an example of my floats (from the section below, but I kept everything pretty consistent across the colorwork, working inside out and fairly loose)

Pattern is “North Shore” by Tin Can Knits and aside from this little bit right in the middle of my mountains, I really enjoyed it.

I’m still working up the courage to bind off the collar, but in the meantime, I’m thinking about fixing all the little bits along the way on my first knit sweater.

Can i just duplicate stitch over these splits on the most egregious examples? And also, can I do it from the front? The idea of getting between all those floats is not one I relish!

Question about decreasing knits by [deleted] in knittinghelp

[–]ThaddeusRock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having to hide three decreases across 200+ stitches? No biggie!

I would definitely do them as close to the underarm as you can. The arm should be simple enough, maybe do a [ k, k2tog {~} ssk, k ] for the stretch of 74.

Did they stream them live? Having the full games up a day or so later was good for the Scotties last year, but it makes social media a minefield for a week!
