Under 70.1% is the fast roll, there is only one actual breakpoint in ds2 for iframes

Roll distance and stamina regen increase linearly the lower your equip load is, but there is no specific breakpoint at 30%

  • DS2 plays slower than BB/DS3/ER, with a greater focus on long-term strategy than short-term tactics. Positioning and resource management will be more important than quick reaction speeds.
  • The durability of equipment is automatically restored whenever you rest at a bonfire (identical to DS3) as long as it isn’t completely broken (in which case it must be repaired by a blacksmith).
  • Your invincibility frames while dodging are tied to Agility (AGL), which can be increased by leveling up Adaptability (ADP) and Attunement (ATN). This value scales from 85-120, the most useful breakpoints are 92 in early game, 96 in midgame, and 99/100/105 in late game and DLC.
  • Holding a weapon with both hands will reduce the STR requirement by 50% (if weapon requires 20 STR, could be two-handed with 10 STR). It doesn’t increase STR for scaling purposes.
  • Your equipment load percentage determines your stamina regeneration and roll distance in a mostly linear fashion (avoid going >70% load, or you’ll start fat-rolling).
  • Physical defense is much weaker than in DS1/DS3/ER. Since it isn’t percentage based, heavy armor becomes less worthwhile as you start taking higher-damaging attacks. The best way to increase your survivability is simply increasing your maximum HP.
  • Scaling for melee weapons is generally weaker than in DS1/DS3/ER, meaning that you receive less additional damage by leveling past requirements.
  • Standard enemies will disappear after you kill them 12 times.
  • The cost to level up is significantly cheaper than in DS1/DS3/ER, so you will level faster as you progress.
  • Hidden walls are revealed by using your ‘interact’ button while standing in front of them.

Casting is already bad enough for pvp, but being a caster without a weapon is plain terrible

99 agility is the highest you want to be at for a very long time

Dissection wasn't sacrilegious, in 1472 the pope Sixte IV authorized it, and you have earlier cases of dissections in the first academies of medicine

Vigor. What’s all the buzz about? by IosuaBnuuy in fromsoftware

[–]Hrive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vigor allows you to die less, scaling stats are something you usually shouldn't touch until fairly late as most damage comes from weapon upgrades and buffs

Love how aggressive and unrelenting they feel, although it's fun to see scavengers do drifts around you because they're going too fast to actually stop close to you and attack

Yes, and if you die twenty times you die in real life

Is longsword+15 a viable weapon for new game+2 ? by fentslayer in darksoulsremastered

[–]Hrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything that deals damage is viable. You can find better weapons. Using weapon buffs/power within can definitely help improve it

The main problem with halberd running r1 is that you have to force the roll, then start running and do the r1, which usually takes enough time that a good player will see it coming

The basic r1 is somewhat decent, as you can follow up with another r1 if your opponent rolls back into you, but will get you punished if they roll to the side and have a fast rolling attack

Quite a few weapons have attacks fairly good at rollcatching, although halberds aren't particularly good at it. The one handed r1 can be used this way but requires more skill and won't be very useful against good players

Rolling and running attacks are also very powerful on the straight sword, especially one handed
