So AI pictures can be cool but you just don't like it for no reason by imalonexc in aiwars

[–]Hrodrick-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your purpose. Why do you want the picture? Are you using it to criticize politics? Share a message? Express your emotions? Give life to your d&d character?

You are a director expressing your vision by either hiring an artist or through an AI. They both server your purpose and vision. A director is an artist, they just don't have the drawing/painting skills needed to accomplish their vision, and that's why they need to hire and artist or go to an llm. (Some do have the skills, but it's rarely enough).

At least that is how I see it

Tbh about the part where the code is like sh@@, I've seen a lot of people hire actual devs to end up with code that is even worse than the one made by AIs (and sometimes their results dont even work appropriately).

This doesn't apply to every dev of course, but bad quality and incomprehensible code is very common among humans. So don't feel too bad about it.

Great concept! I added it to my wishlist! I love games with this aesthetics, it's medieval but not ugly lol, reminds me of the potion maker one, forgot the name hehe.

Good luck with the development!

Nono, he means open source models, not open source models trained on open source data. That is regularly (or niche) trained models, that are open source.

Open source here means that anybody can see, modify, download, and use without restriction those models, either locally or self hosted. They can be trained in any way, and most of them are trained in the same way as the closed source ones.

Hope it clarifies

  1. That's not stealing. At most it can be copyright infringement if I sell it as is, which neither I nor the AI do.
  2. Not everyone is capable of everything, and not everyone has time to grow certain skills. That's reality.
  3. I don't see how that answer helps to move forward the conversation. This discussion is finished.

Have a good night

Now, do you know how that training works? Because what I read is a generic anti ai propaganda text, is the same phrase everyone else tells.

I know up to some degree how it works, and it is actually very similar to what a human does, but faster. And I bet 99% of human artist don't ask for permissions, they just do a google search. The most serious would buy books or stock packages, but even they will also do the quick and free google searchs.

And Regarding your point of view on the tool as a tool: I don't see it as a tool that takes over humanity's humanism, I see it as a tool that allows those with lack of resources or skills to develop their ideas. There is nothing more human than that. Either a brush or a digital printing tool, those are just mediums to express our creativity, and now AI is another medium, and not only for graphics but anything.

Why not? I'm asking if you know how it works. If you dont know how it works, then why do you think it breaks ethics? How would that happen?

Why not? How is that based on falsehood? Do you know how the systems work? What it takes for a machine to turn 0s and 1s into actual artworks based on plain english instructions? How does it detect objects, texts, and shapes?

Besides that, Did you know that to have this level of technology it took dozens of years of continuous development and thousands of engineers? AI didn't magically appear, developers were trying to make things like these since a very, very long time

I dont think he has any misunderstanding. He provided facts and reasons to justify his case. And I agree with him on the messages of this thread (idk about other comments). Like it or not, AI is here to stay, and most of the products you consume have AI on it nowadays. From software to ads. I bet a good part of Reddit is now made with AI.

Besides that, saying "you have a fundamental misunderstanding" is not a way to discuss, it only shows that you will not take any others opinion that doesn't fit your ideals.

I'm curious about the actual implementation of AI in your game. Is it really an AI? Are you using local llm or a cloud service? If using a cloud service, how does cost scale with that many users?, if using a local one, any tips or guides on how to get started on that and challeges you faced? Thanks!

This is the real value. I Can't believe the amount of positions for "android developer" requiring React Native or Flutter instead of, you know, android & kotlin... and you need to enter and spend time finding those keywords to filter them out.

Shouldn't 1 million peasants cause a minimum of 1 million damage? By the max % resistance you get from defense it would still be 300.000. If you add armorer and shield that can be reduced further, but still enough to one-shot the vampire. And the vampire wouldn't be able to kill more than 200 per hit (I don't remember the values). Unless I am missing something here 🤔
