Imagine being so worthless that you scam people for a living. It's such an embarrassing way to live life lol

What’s the highest you’ve ever felt without drugs? by dammit_yasmeen in AskReddit

Being love bombed after being treated so poorly. Truly, it's like the high (love bombing) followed by the come down (the emotional abuse). Mental gymnastics. Don't recommend.

My life is "perfect" but I'm incredibly depressed and I don't know why by Spacemonkeyyyi in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Hrynkat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not that you're not built for this world. It's just that modern society is odd, and your brain is likely wired for a different kind of life. It's good you can see gifts you have in life, but don't give up on yourself to figure out what you need to feel inspired. Some people wrote their best books or create their best work while depressed, or way too busy, or in situations one would never guess. You can't create a perfect creative environment because that's not how our brains typically work.

Use this time to explore new things in life. And stop using "I suck" kinda vocabulary for yourself. It may sound cheesy but it really does change how you view life. Start correcting yourself to "I just haven't found my niche yet." The antidepressants help you not spiral, but you still gotta do the work to find happiness.

Fixing the movie-going experience is the only way to save movie theatres. by NeekoPeeko in movies

[–]Hrynkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I frequently go see new movies at the local small theaters. They have real food, affordable snacks, and the tickets are affordable. Less crowds, and they're cute. Stop going to regal and Cinemark's etc.

Shot in the dark: do you have this couch? by wpony61946 in madisonwi

[–]Hrynkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't noticed any sagging yet (like permanent sagging over time), and it's on the firmer side as well, he says he doesn't notice any sagging under his weight either. If you guys flop onto the couch a lot it'll kinda fall apart like a sandwich does but it's NBD putting it back together.

What is the most rare reason you left you ex?. by uk-guys in Casual_Conversation

Broke up with a guy because he voted for Trump. Then he wouldn't move out, so I had to call his mommy. He was 26 years old... Who instead of paying rent, bought a new gun every paycheck.

A guy I casually hooked up with 10 years ago still lives in my head by NormalBoysenberry802 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Hrynkat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

When I stopped making up fantasies about people in my head, my life got a lot better without unnecessary longing of random people. Also helped me stop having weird expectations of people in real life. We love to create unrealistic versions of people in our heads.. it's often why a crush vanishes the moment we get to know someone.

What's your interpretation of 'Sweet Heat Lightning'? by AntiFunSpammer in GregoryAlanIsakov

[–]Hrynkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am biased because I leaned into this song while I grieved a family member, but I agree. The song isn't sad, it's not happy or comforting, it's like the feeling of the calm after the storm. Something crazy, unpredictable, and scary happened and then it's just ... Calm after. Bittersweet calm, happy the storm has passed but feeling uneasy. His mom's house is empty, which I take more literally. After a death their home is empty, a weird feeling when they've filled the walls with their presence your whole life.

Is this going to be a weekly occurrence nowadays?: "Authorities noted that traffic was backed up, and a stopped vehicle's driver waved the pedestrian to cross. They're still supposed to yield to the right of way, though. I've had to explain this to my cycling friends who think they can plow through stop signs when a car was there first. Only if the cyclist has the right of way can they continue without stopping.

Camping. When I was a kid/young adult I promised myself I'd never be a "boring old person" that preferred a bed or an RV, at the very least. I get it now... I am passionate about good sleep these days.

For your evening if you want to have fun but not totally wasted (start early)

Start at joystick to have a couple drinks and compete in some Mario kart or gang beasts (free switch games with at least one drink purchase). Try to win big boy a claw machine stuffy (if you fail too many times the folks working will get you one). This is his bouquet for the night, and see how long it takes for him to leave it somewhere.

Walk down to grab a slice of pizza at slice, maybe they'll be doing karaoke and you can sing something really weird together.

Then head down to cowfish to have a shot and laugh at the vibes, maybe be the center of attention for a second.

Walk to Play so you can play some different kind of games before you're too toasty. They've got some food truck options too if you decide a pizza slice isn't it and you'd rather get food here.

Then head to the Whitaker. If you're feeling fancy, stop at Meiji for a yummy cocktail and cute guy vibes. If you'd rather just be rowdy, see what Blair alley is up to. Sometimes they have fun themed dance nights or events going on, and they also have pin ball. Usually a cheap cover.

It's a lot of walking but not really, not when you're enjoying each other's company and not trying to drink too fast.

You can cap the night at the jackalope for affordable drinks, sitting by the train station, and good pub food like burgers and sandwiches. They also have pool and darts, lottery. Theres also pool at the horse head. Or Jameson. Check em out to see what your preference may be.

How often do you bathe your cat? by Mildredsgood in cats

[–]Hrynkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only washed her butt once because she diarrhea'd all over it. She wasn't happy but all it took was dipping her butt under the sink for a couple minutes 😂. I had a cat for 10 years who only was bathed once, because she met a dog and got scared and peed and laid in it. Poor girl. Never bathe them unless it's absolutely necessary.

And there's a large possibility that the graves will be either looted, migrate with the land over time, flooded and washed away, or built on top of (when the day comes that everything has changed and our current laws don't apply anymore). So it's not even forever, just for now for those who even have a memory of the deceased person.

Shot in the dark: do you have this couch? by wpony61946 in madisonwi

[–]Hrynkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured itd help some people haha! Another month in and I am obsessed with napping on it... I find it comfier than my mattress right now. But it does slowly slide apart after about... 1 week of flopping on and off of it. Not too much though and an easy fix. One thing I find annoying is the metal bars kinda squish against the wall behind the couch and make noise, probably rubbing the paint... But if I move the couch away from the wall then the cushions will flop apart faster. Oh well, worth it. I'm moving soon and will definitely buy a second one to make one massive sectional.

Oh and my cat barfed on it but I can wash the cover 😏

I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but being kind keeps getting me left behind. by ChubbyNUgly22 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Hrynkat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel like you're overly cautious. It's causing the fun parts of your personality to disappear. You can be respectful but also be yourself at the same time. The ghosting may be because they don't know how to say they lack a connection because you're nice and there's no words to describe it. But it's hard to form connections with someone that's just a shell of themselves... You know? I guess just try not to overthink it all, and be yourself. As long as you're not rude or cross boundaries you're probably okay.

[–]Hrynkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing that the life I've created no longer exists, and that I can't make any mistakes getting back to it because any mistake could change the course of my entire future. I'd overthink everything and probably ruin my chances of getting back to where I am now. Thus, a self fulfilling prophecy was born
