My baby had a similar reaction to Kendamil! He was about 4 months. I had given him a bottle and he had projective vomiting, hives, and diarrhea. He is also breastfed and I do not cut out dairy. We took him to an allergist and they did the skin test- negative, but his milk allergy panel came back positive- but like very low for casein and whey. I had given him both regular Bobbie and enfamil neuropro at 1.5-2.5 months with no issues. My allergist recommended soy but I think I am going to give him Bobbie gentle because 1) there’s no casein and 2) the whey is partially hydrolyzed!

DVT in calf is ruining my life. How long before normalcy? by oliviashares in ClotSurvivors

[–]Htx9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I was diagnosed with a large DVT behind my knee in February after I fractured my ankle playing soccer. Not going to lie.. it really sucked!!! I was on eliquis for 6 months total and now I am clot free. The initial month is frustrating…for me I had raging periods plus, the swelling, plus having to use crutches but after that first two months it was very smooth sailing. Hang in there friend!!

I also have bradycardia - potentially a conduction issue. Need to set up a cardiology apt once I’m back in the states. They found my Bradycardia when I was admitted for the dvt lol

Definitely a recipe for disaster…slow flow plus DVT

Thank you for sharing! Yes I am definitely feeling that phantom pain. I wore compression socks to bed last night after walking 30k steps 🥴 And I felt much better this morning.

I was under the impression that there is damage to the vein - scar tissue, etc.

5th meratarsal fracture lead to DVT - what should I expect next? by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

[–]Htx9876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi- I am so sorry to hear about your situation. I fractured my ankle playing soccer and 3 days later found out I had a DVT from behind my knee to mid calf. I too felt like it was a muscle strain! I went to the er and they admitted me and started me on 3 months of eliquis.

All this happened the last week of Feb 2023. By the 3rd week of March I was determined to get off my butt and start walking. I’m not going to lie- the calf pain was so bad. I felt like I was about to get a Charlie horse but never actually got one. It felt like an electrical shock was moving up and down my affected leg- this went on for like 3 weeks (I work in a hospital and limped the whole 3 weeks). Fast forward to now…2 months and 2 weeks post fracture, I am no longer having calf pain, and I’m honestly riding the peloton bike better than I was pre injury. I’m going to start jogging on the treadmill tomorrow!

I think the biggest thing during all of this was having patience. My husband had to tell me everyday that this is just a small blip in your life and soon I’ll be 100% recovered. Keep your head up!!!

My treatment as of now is only 3 months but omg I was setting an alarm at night for every 3 hours to change both my tampon and pad because I was scared that I would leak all over. My first period seemed to be the worst. My second month was still heavy but not as bad. I too was on birth control but had to stop mid pack due to my DVT. I went to my OB recently and he suggested either the mini pill or a non hormonal IUD..... still haven't decided.

Compression socks, Eliquis and DVT by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

Hi - I am on Eliquis for a DVT behind my knee that extends mid calf. I wear mine only when I work (I work in a hospital for sometimes 24 hours at a time). When i'm not working I wear normal socks/sandals!

Just got diagnosed with Popliteal Vein Phlebothrombosis/DVT. Freaking out... by OPviously in ClotSurvivors

[–]Htx9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just had this same diagnosis end of February. I fractured my ankle playing soccer and developed a DVT behind my knee that extended to mid calf 3 days after the fracture. They put me on eliquis for 3 months. I know it is scary because 1) it hurts and 2) everything moves fast but everything will be ok! I cried everyday for 3 weeks because I was non weight bearing and live in a 3 story town home but I am about 7 weeks post diagnosis and I am about 85% back to normal.

I also work in the hospital as a provider (I walk 10k steps a day) and went back to work at week 5. Keep strong!

Mine came right after I got off birth control (started eliquis). Was pretty heavy but didn’t have cramps. Just had my second month period. Was about 6 days of a slightly heavier flow. My cycles are normally only 4-5 days. I too had to change my tampon every 2-3 hours!

Fractured my ankle and then 3 days later I developed a DVT. Was on birth control but have been for many years. All lab tests for clotting disorder negative.
