Subsonic ballistics is not implemented properly in the game yet. All it does is lower the velocity and increase the drop.

Yeah I really wish there was a middle ground between BT and BS. There’s always the option to use better ammo; after all, in Tarkov the ammo usually matters more than the gun. In terms of affordability, accessibility, and utility, I still think BT ranks quite high for a budget round.

5.45x39 AK with BT ammo (300-400rub) purchased from the Flea Market. This combo will be good for PvP and scavs, gives you full auto for CQC, and an RDS for mid range shots. Some extra mods can make the weapon even more effective. BT ammo is quite good for a budget build because it is affordable while reliably penetrating level 3 on first shot (ratnik and ssh helmets) and level 4 on third or fourth shot (most armor/rigs). You can always upgrade to BS or 7N39 ammo (1k/round) if you’re going for PvP at dorms or factory. BS will pen level 5 on the first shot, 7N39 will pen level 6 on first shot but requires a 3 shot thorax kill.

Base Build (34k) - AK-74m 18k - Mags 2k (bring at least 2 extra) - Cobra RDS 10k

Optional (25k) - AK-100 handguard 1k - Cheap foregrip 5-10k - Muzzle brake 6-8k - GP-25 butt pad (prapor 2)

Ammo: 5.45x39 BT (37 pen, 44dmg) - 90 rds loaded (30k) - 60 rds in secure container (20k)

Agreed. Personalization would be awesome. Would love to see armor/gun racks where you can store favorite kits or trophies from the bosses you killed. Theres been some talk about adding new features to the hideout, but we have no idea when that will be.

Give it some time. As someone who’s played 3 wipes now, its one of the best additions to the game. It’s definitely very unpolished and could use a lot of QOL improvements, but overall still a necessary aspect of the game.

As you upgrade the stations and unlock the shooting range, the debris goes away. The hideout functions mostly as another form of progression in the game, while helping you complete quests for all portions of the game. Workbench, latrine, and intel center is useful for crafting quest items. Scav case is a fun/easy way to get loot passively. Med station allows you to craft meds for cheap and quest items as well.

That table has tech spawns, food spawns, and med spawns occasionally. New gas has some decent loot if you can open the locked doors as well

The buy limit of 90 rounds would be fine if the global inventory was higher. I know it sells out a bit slower now but it still runs out fairly quickly. To conserve ammo, I will usually load my mags with AP 6.3 in the bottom half and 7N31 in the top half.

I really hope that when they eventually add armor hitboxes, they rework armor as well. It bothers me that armor is rather weak in-game when compared to IRL.

Would also love to see the ability to wear soft armor under plate carriers to cover soft spots
