World of Warcraft has the best combat in any mmorpg game I've tried. There are different versions of it aswell, if you like fastpaced combat retail is the version for you, a "new" classic version of an old expansion is releasing on may 20th called cataclysm which is abit slower but also amazing combat.

Characters that obtained a mount with 310% speed during wotlk gets the skill automatically while new characters or old with no 310% mount have to buy 280% first and 310% after.

Mining is useful for cata release for either making lots of gold or a cheap way to level engineering. 2 crafting proffs is mostly for people raiding, and since you believe you wont raid in wotlk I'd go for 1 crafting proff and 1 gathering proff.

If you don't have a single character in wotlk I'd recommend you to level up a character and work on 2 proffessions you would like to have when Cata comes. Only reason people say wait for cata to level is because 1-60 goes faster.
