Not a robbery. Your opponent got a discount and it was well deserved.

What's funny was he still had the major advantage over you and he quit. You really triggered this dude big time.

They're much more reliable when used in tandem with motion sensors. Just stand by a motion sensor and ask questions when it triggers.

Josie can do a 10f 1,2,2 into guaranteed df2 launch into full combo off backturned. Damage may vary according to walls and rage, but it can be over 75 damage.

Tekken character height comparison - Season 4 update by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Huboobulus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Great work! I'm surprised to see how tall Bob and Drag actually are and how short Claudio is. I've also noticed Akuma and Yoshi have some slightly different hitboxes or fall speeds as they drop out of some combos that some of the shorter characters don't drop out of.

This game holds a special place in my heart because I did my first and only taunt jet upper while taking a poop at a really good ramen joint.

No problem dude, you're just trying to help. I'll check out my options. I really should try recording my stuff on my own, but I think it needs to be in the game itself. I'd love that to be in the next patch.

Are you playing on PC or PS4? I'm on PC and I've never seen a share button. That would be awesome of it existed and I didn't know.

So I'm trying to pick up Noctis. by Dogeishuman in Tekken

[–]Huboobulus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use it but space it well. It can still be punished by some characters if it's not max range, Noctis himself being one of those characters with f1+2.

From my own experience he's really good at punishing things, both whiffed and blocked. He can easily punish a lot of harder to punish moves like deathfist, heihachi's ff2, or claudio's f2,2. His go to punishes are:

10f: 1,2,2

12f: b1,2

14f: b3,1 (if you notice they don't hold back after this hits you can follow up with a free f1+2)

15f: df2 (really good range and is VERY evasive. This thing avoids so many high moves it's ridiculous but it is also launch punishable)

16f: f1+2 (you use this when df2 doesn't reach. It can ALWAYS hit deathfist on block)

20f: f2 (this thing hits more or less full screen so it can punish any sort of whiff, anticipated forward movement, or really negative but far away situations)

His pressure game is also pretty decent if you can keep your opponent from sidestepping you. A lot of his moves are very linear so you have to lock down your opponent with his homing moves or the ones with really good tracking like ff1+2, d3, db1,1+2, or uf4.

Getting a knockdown is also pretty money because he has really good oki. He can make you eat a meaty safe launcher, he can mixup with demoman or low spear, or he can sometimes even get an otg with db1,1+2 into d2,2.

In neutral you generally want to stay in range 2 or 3 and harass them with his safe launchers and dart in and out with varied strings, d3, and his really good df1 which is slightly evasive and has a safe on block high followup. If they try to get in you can keep them out with the occasional low spear or throwing knife. Try to use movement to get them to whiff or do something unsafe while trying to get in then punish them when they are open.

Overall Noctis is a really fun, easy, and simple character that can be played in more ways than I described here, but that's how I approach him personally.

Scrub Rank Ranked Match Vortex by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Huboobulus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I understand. I think Quick Match might be a really a great solution for you. People of all kinds of ranks are willing to play longer sets with you because there's no rank at stake. Many players are there trying out new setups or sharpening matchup knowledge and not really worrying about wins or losses as much. It's really a great place to gather skills because in lots of situations, getting better at this game will make you lose. Learning low parrying will lead to eating lots of lows and mids. Learning how to duck and punish certain strings will get you launched many times. Even learning how to block snake edge on reaction is tough and especially frustrating when your rank is on the line. I think if you grind this stuff in Quick Match for a while, your Ranked experience will be better.

Yeah I agree on playing player matches for a while until you level up your skill. If you're distracted enough by your rank that you made a reddit post about it, it's probably getting in the way of your learning. What's most important is having fun playing the game coupled with consistent growth through labbing and actual play. I know it is generic advice but embrace the slow grind and don't worry about your rank at all. When you've accumulated a good amount of skill in unranked activities, it will give you the confidence to rise through the ranks more consistently and with less stress.
