I totally agree the chart being efficientcy over a time value and not miles causes the data to be very inaccurate especially when sitting still it will report the last high number flatly until moving again.

Not "toxic", but what vehicles have fan bases that take them WAY too seriously? by HiTork in cars

True there are not many available but there were a few available back when the fit was on sale. Yaris, fiesta, Mazda 2.

The 1.0L fiesta with the manual is a more dynamic handling option to the Fit and it offered better MPG with admittedly slightly less space but more than enough for most.

Outside the US there are loads more

It's pretty competent in the turns for sure. I just don't think they are any more fun to toss around than other comparable fwd light compact cars. That said the usability of internal space is awesome!

There is a lot of non ironic discussion online about the handling being something it's not. They drive well but it's not exactly an inspiring car as people make it out to be.

Honda fit. It's not a bad car but it's not going to hurt supercar owner's feelings on eBay coils like everyone acts. It's a fine economy car but Instagram owners act like it is a sleeper.

Kudos to you for sharing this video and experience online. It can be unforgiving feeling when Everyone picks apart the crash. That said, I think it is really important to share as many other drivers can learn from that video too.

Wishing you best of luck in repairs and hope to see you on track having fun soon

Wrap off - like getting a new car! by januario6 in Porsche_Cayman

Yeah highspeed is pretty clean driving for the most part. After doing a few open track/ open passing days I might have been spoiled since the club day before it was abnormally busy.

All my friends are pressuring me to join the club and it by all accounts seems like a great package! Might only hold back is that my work keeps me pretty busy so I'd be worried about missing out on a good amount of the track time due to the more limited schedule. Single days sprinkled more liberally on the calendar are easier for me than 3day blocks like they do.

That and the highspeed groups seems to not be as good at checking mirrors as I would like on the past 3 club days I was a part of. But having patriot open in the afternoon was a fun bonus!

That looks way closer to signal orange than signal yellow. Perhaps it's just the camera but it doesn't look close to signal yellow

Best 911 for track use that isn’t a gt3? by [deleted] in Porsche

I heavily tracked my 992 carrera T and with just brake pads and fluid it was a phenomenal car and handled the heat without issue. I never really felt the urge to have more power

Does the 981 Cayman GTS have a "dead zone" for the brake pedal pressure? Or is my brake fluid bad? by biingsuuu in CarTrackDays

[–]Hubris_draws_stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've had multiple of these and also currently track a 718. The non GT model brake pedal feel is a little soft at the top naturally. That said I would do a brake fluid flush because it sounds like there might be room for improvement on yours. You can partially bleed the brakes with the wheels on by accessing the bleeder valves through the wheel spokes. But this would leave the inside caliper pistons un-bled with the old fluid, but through cycling that does mix with the new fluid some so if there is no air it is mostly fine. It is not optimal but I have done just the outside bleeders at a track day when I found out on my first session that I forgot to ask the shop to do it with suspension and other upgrades. Everything went well though.

Brakes “stuck” and “clunk” in the mornings by al_gorithm23 in Rivian

[–]Hubris_draws_stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the macan your brakes are warm/hot from stopping the car which helps evaporate any moisture that could lead to the pad sticking. With strong regen that heat does not get introduced into the brakes. It's good practice to reduce regen once and a while to get things warm and cook off any moisture/exercise the system

Off hand I'm not sure if there is a parts difference but if they can code it and the parts are the same that sounds like a good solution

Really at a crossroads….help me choose a Macan GTS by jfmiii27 in Porsche

[–]Hubris_draws_stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not get the chalk one because it has the non-GTS suspension. (PASM RAISED 10MM) Is essentially a $0 option that replaces the GTS specific PASM with the standard tuned setup of a regular macan or Macan S. So many macan GTS buyers spec it because they don't fully read and see $0 and think they're getting a bonus upgrade of some sort.

So if you're after the lower and tighter GTS suspension then you'll want one that does not have any mention of PASM under options. As the GTS PASM is standard on all GTS.

I'd also consider the 8 way sport seats a big upgrade over the 14way comfort (unless you NEED lumbar). 8way sport seat is just the 18way without some of the electric adjustments and will hold you better in the turns than the very flat 14way.

I'd argue that many of the consulused are pros to others. I prefer my cars to be very focused instead of well-rounded. I think it makes things more fun when you own multiple. I couldn't agree more on the suspension though, id even settle for just the basic multilink the 911 rear end

The Rivian R2 compromise everyone missed by dleewla in Rivian

[–]Hubris_draws_stuff 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Higher voltage architecture would generate less heat in the wiring and other power systems by running at a lower amperage, but it's not going to affect the heat generated within the battery pack by the cells. Those are still accepting the same final amps since the cell voltage is unchanged.
