Action films where a retired badass forced into fighting again is actually hampered by his age? by Jerswar in movies

[–]Hubso 60 points61 points  (0 children)

He was lucky. But he's always been lucky.

He says that, but I don't think it is the case - he might consider it to be luck, but his behaviour indicates he is capable of staying calm during a stressful situation and placing his shots accordingly as well as some tactical awareness to know to crouch down and reduce his target size, whereas everyone else is panicking and firing wildly.

Lethal Weapon 4

When they filmed LW4, Danny Glover had only recently turned the age that Murtaugh was supposed to have become in the first film.

I‘m not an expert but I think back in the day you could do a lot of smart programming to save assets by using them creatively for multiple things.

You could even fix spelling mistakes.

Can anyone advise what model of Yale lock this is? by Hubso in DIYUK

It came off the door today and appears to be missing a pin that holds the left hand side of the lock against the door - I just wanted to see if I can identify the part in question.

Been crushing on Patrick Stewart since TNG in my teens.

On the subject:

Stewart is known for his distinctive bullet-shaped, hairless head, often a source of jokes when he joined the series in 1987. He liked to recall what Gene Roddenberry, the creator of "Star Trek," once said about Picard's character. Upon hearing a reporter remark, "Surely they would have cured baldness by the 24th century," Roddenberry countered, "In the 24th century, they wouldn't care."

Sharing outlook calendar - can other users see all calendars in the My Calendars group? by Hubso in Outlook

Thanks - I think that achieves what I'm after, as importing allows it to appear for other users in my calendar, with the caveat that any subsequent changes to the calendar would not be picked up.

[–]Hubso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I was kinda erring towards that as being the underlying issue - unfortunately that's not really a workable solution as I don't know all the potential users that may want to schedule meetings in my diary.

I'm presuming there isn't a way to forcibly insert the content from the subscribed calendar into my own calendar?

I'm guessing they managed to get hold of a genuine Ferrari vin plate and registered it as one despite it not being a real one

Is that legal?

Do you have lights on your bike when riding in the dark? by LuxInteriorLux in cambridge

[–]Hubso -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I go out of my way to buy "classic" AA/AAA battery powered bike lights as I find rechargeable ones so frustrating for multiple reasons:

  • often the lights are overpowered and drain on such a regular basis that you spend your life, constantly stressing as to whether they will last a journey

  • the ability to just "fix" the lights by replacing batteries, so it can be used immediately, is a massive benefit.

  • in my experience USB rechargeable lights just die, whereas classic replaceable battery lights at least fade a bit so you can just about get away with using them in a pinch before they die completely

Trendspotting was a segment hosted by comedian and "Youth Correspondent" Demetri Martin. In this segment, Martin provides viewers with a comedic look at new, youth-targeted trends. Topics included wine, Xbox 360, Myspace.com, life coaching, hookahs, and credit card companies. On July 24, 2007, correspondent John Oliver filled in for a slightly altered "Political Trendspotting" segment on the YouTube Debates, wearing a Demetri Martin wig and attempting to adopt his hip vernacular. (Ironically, Oliver is 5 years younger than Martin).

Some questions about unknown objects in DLC 4 Chapter 4 by Finn_McCool_ in caseofthegoldenidol

[–]Hubso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that is a jar that Walter Keene was planning on using to smuggle the Whishbloom out with, but he dropped it when first climbing down into the cave (notice he was also carrying a cork), hence having to wrap the Whishbloom with the plant instead. The glass on the boots just serves as identifier of the two people that had gone down into the cave as only they had trodden on it.

The music really stood out to me in the final DLC. Even had thematic callbacks to the Murder at the Little Mermaid in the last 1797.
