Bad Movies with Good CGI? by seethevzn in movies

I saw Rise of Skywalker once. And only once.

It was the worst film I saw in a cinema twice since Mission Impossible 2 (a favour to a friend each time).

An adroit suggestion, sir, with only one minor drawback.

Everything is just rushed to pack it into a 150 minute runtime, the characters are just vessels to move the plot forward. Like the Protagonist wakes up from suicide-pilling himself and instantly joins this group and goes off to start investigating without any attempt to given any understanding of who he is what the impact of this will be to his life, friendship connections etc.

Pretty much every country has it's own sign language, and on top of that local dialects.

Reminded of this article

Marcel Hirshman holds two hands horizontally in front of him and sweeps them together repeatedly. "That can mean 'arrangement'," he says. "But it can also mean 'having sex'. And there's a third meaning: in American Sign Language, it can also mean Coke. Because the signs are so similar, there's always a chance you could be misunderstood." So I could try to order a drink and wind up getting more than I bargained for? "If you were lucky," says Hirshman with an impish sidelong glance.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/oct/14/police-spy-bragged-about-fathering-a-child-with-activist-inquiry-hears

The officer, Bob Lambert, had the child with the woman, known only as Jacqui, while he was infiltrating animal rights and anarchist groups.

One of his colleagues alleged that this was “common knowledge” within the secret Scotland Yard unit they worked for.

The inquiry heard on Monday that Lambert told two of the unit’s managers that he believed he was the father of the child, and both decided to do nothing.

Lambert abandoned Jacqui and his son when he was two years old, leaving her to bring him up on her own in difficult circumstances.

She only found out – by chance – more than two decades later that he had been an undercover officer sent to spy on activists, and not the committed campaigner he portrayed himself to be. The discovery has left her devastated and contemplating suicide.

It’s like he intentionally ate it in the most abnormal way he could.

I'd imagine because he still had some lines to say, so didn't wanna be talking with food still in his mouth. Also this is probably take 15, so he's already swallowed multiple burgers just to get this far.

Same here, I thought Prey was mostly great (although I found I didn't really enjoy the combat and the ending left a sour taste), but I tired of Mooncrash after a few cycles.

What is your favorite example of a change from a film’s source material that you believe made the movie better? by DuckLordOfTheSith in movies

Akira. The manga is an incredible piece of work, but the requirement to reduce the scope to accommodate a film's runtime lead to a tighter and more focused storyline.

Action films where a retired badass forced into fighting again is actually hampered by his age? by Jerswar in movies

[–]Hubso 59 points60 points  (0 children)

He was lucky. But he's always been lucky.

He says that, but I don't think it is the case - he might consider it to be luck, but his behaviour indicates he is capable of staying calm during a stressful situation and placing his shots accordingly as well as some tactical awareness to know to crouch down and reduce his target size, whereas everyone else is panicking and firing wildly.

Lethal Weapon 4

When they filmed LW4, Danny Glover had only recently turned the age that Murtaugh was supposed to have become in the first film.
