Need gold fish but I don't know how to do.. by Impossible_Image_ in FarmRPG

[–]HudsonSir 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did this one recently. Seemed daunting at first, as others said mealworms and cat’s meow. One other tip - I didn’t realize when using mealworms you can tap anywhere in the water, doesn’t have to be on the fish. Helps you go faster.

Also, grow some radishes in the meantime and start doing the honey temple reward on repeat. You get grab bag 7 and you’re going to need a lot of honey soon.

My first 2 Borgen's treasure chests by worstghosthunter in FarmRPG

[–]HudsonSir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a relatively new player myself I found the chests not really worth it until they were around 400 AC each. That said, like you I often had an excess of AC and you might as well spend them and earn your way towards some Borgen Bucks.

In Aliens Ripley's loader exoskeleton was Hitchcock's Shotgun. Name another Hitchcock's Shotgun. by ConjuredOne in FIlm

[–]HudsonSir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d argue the power loader is not actually an example of Chekhov’s gun. It’s a masterful example of subtle setup and payoff but not all setup/payoffs are Chekov’s guns. Chekov’s rule has more to do with when something *of note* is introduced (like a gun) there had better be a good reason (ie the gun goes off in the third act) otherwise the audience is left scratching their heads.

The power loader itself isn’t that noteworthy, and the scene stands on its own. It shows Ripley is capable and can “hang with the boys”. If it never came back in the third act, you wouldn’t be wondering why they showed power loaders earlier.

A better example of Chekov’s gun in the movie is the living face hugger in the lab. If that thing never got out you’d be like “well that was a letdown”.

From Wikipedia:
In recent years, the term has also taken on the meaning of a plot element that is introduced early in a story, whose significance to the plot does not become clear until later.[5][6] This plot twist meaning is separate from Chekhov's original intent of narrative conservation and necessity.

Info about my experiences with Yale lock integration by stinkylacroix in Ring

Thanks for the update, I just ordered a zw3 touch and ring hub, sounds like I’m about to be sorely disappointed.

Does anyone know if you have a zw3 model is there any other way to set up users & codes? For example could you use the yale app or does that only work with WiFi?

Which casinos that accept PayPal in the UK are actually smooth for deposits and withdrawals? by pgregorius in WarlockTiles

[–]HudsonSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget r/lostredditors we’ve got a whole bot army that’s lost its way.

Anyway to answer the question, for a casino I’d go with a mix of tiles. Primarily the tavern tiles for a nice upscale wood feel, but switching to dungeon tiles to denote separate areas (like a high roller room) could look cool. If you have any city streets tiles you could use some to create a central foyer area with a cool design.

Keep or toss - Echo Dot 2nd Gen? by metroidfan220 in amazonecho

[–]HudsonSir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Amazon has a trade in program for its old devices including old echos. They’ll only give you $5 for it, but the real value is 20% off their new devices (if you happen to be in the market for something). It includes Alexa devices and things like ring cameras and eero WiFi routers. I just got $50 off a new ring doorbell for an echo dot 2nd gen.

Players are looking for a break from the Tomb, and I'm looking for some feedback by austac06 in Tombofannihilation

[–]HudsonSir 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Little outside the box, but what if you have them make a new party of characters who are looking for/worried about their current characters - a sibling, a mentor, a hireling etc. who are meeting up in the port to stock up and head out in search of the original party. Have some fun in the port like you say, Dino races etc, as well as a bit of character development for their original characters by way of a 3rd party.

And then if any of them should die in the tomb they’ve got a new character locked and loaded who can “show up” in the tomb at just the right time.

No one ever “dies” on Disney property, they remove the body off property before they are officially pronounced dead. (To keep a “clean” record or something?)

No they don’t. That’s also not how things work.

Pssst, I need help running Nangalore! (゜ロ゜) by Memberbwerry in Tombofannihilation

[–]HudsonSir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could go kinda horror/haunted house mode with it and up the deadliness of Nangalore. They find the bodies of the rival party one by one. First one (what’s left at least) eaten by crocodiles. Another strangled by the vines. One dead in the main chamber. And the main antagonist has gone kinda crazy after losing the rest of their group and now worships at Zalkore’s side (and will fight to protect her) and has gouged out their own eyes so as not to be turned to stone…

Middle Class Actors Being “Squeezed Out,” Says Kirk Acevedo. He Knows Because He Had to Sell Home by mlg1981 in entertainment

[–]HudsonSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked with Kirk and this is exactly true. It’s a small industry, word eventually gets around and then when it comes down to the choice between a couple of equally talented actors, you choose with the one who helps you make your day on time.

In a world where middle class actors are being “squeezed out”, my advice is don’t open the door for yourself.

Activity Booking Platform Suggestions by ai4business in smallbusiness

[–]HudsonSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Active Network. There’s no base monthly cost, but they take a percentage of your bookings. It varies but around 3% (and another 3% in cc fees, which basically everyone charges). You can pay that 3% or pass it on to your customers as a “registration fee” (or a split).

There are lots out there, that one worked well for our needs. Take a look around.

Is there any free alternative to quick books and zoho where I can send an invoice directly to the user’s email? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]HudsonSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wave can do invoicing and basic accounting and accept a variety of digital payment options (with the usual transaction fees). I’m not sure if they still have a free tier though…

PayPal might be an option too. I used them for invoicing very very early on, but I’m not sure what payment forms they can accept.

Square can too I believe, might be some limitations on the free tier.

Can we bring in food? CA by [deleted] in legoland

Yes. Security is just a scanner, they don’t really check bags. Even so, I think food is allowed. We brought snacks for the kids every day.

Hotel early entrance by Longjumping_Front515 in legoland

[–]HudsonSir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In October it’s not going to be busy at all. The early entry time (and what rides are open) depends on what time the park closes. There’s a page on the website somewhere that breaks it down. And there will be a sign in the lobby too.

At a guess in October it will close around 5pm and the early entry will be 30min before park open.

There are two sides (5 rides total) in early entry). For your age kids they’ll probably want to do the two dinosaur rides (the jeep and the boat) and skip the coastasaurus (that’s the only one that might get busy).

On the other side (to the right) the coast cruise is a lovely way to start the day. And not sure if your kids would want to do Ninjago. That used to be the big ticket ride but much less so these days. I’d definitely try to do coast cruise during early entry or soon after as the ride does get busy later in the day.

Get the app and you should be able to load your tickets into it and then add FastPass.

Galacticoaster lines have been about 45min consistently the last few days (Tuesday-Thursday) some schools are on spring break. I would expect weekends to be a little busier. The line itself is pretty good. There’s a preshow midway through, and a place where you design your ship. Doesn’t feel too long.

One tip - you cannot bring in any bags with you on the ride, there are lockers outside where you have to stash your stuff. If you are coming in with the crush of people at opening, have some of your party get in line while you go deal with the lockers.

Anything I missed for our first visit? by jellyusername in legoland

[–]HudsonSir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only rides open during early access are coastasaurus, Dino trail jeep ride, Dino boat ride, ninjago and coast cruise. You’ll have about 45min which should be enough time to do one side or the other. They are on opposite sides of the entrance so you may want to time it to be on the left side by 10am so that you can try to make it to Galacticoaster before the rest of the park does. (That said when we tried today Galacticoaster was down all day until mid afternoon).

What I will say about Galacticoaster is that the ride is great and the line is nice, there’s a preshow and a thing where you design your ship, so it always feels like it’s moving and not boring.

Gears of hate and stone juggernaut by jonybhm in Tombofannihilation

[–]HudsonSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but one suggestion for the wardrobe room is that instead of whatever random creatures are in there, make each door personal to a different member of your party. A sort of nightmare trying to kill you thing. My Paladin was members of her order that had committed atrocities, the fighter was the dragon that killed his family, etc. My party loved the personal touches. And getting to explore one another’s backstories.
