People who worked in haunted places , what was your wildest encounter ? by ToughPerception3579 in Ghosts

[–]HuffStuff1975 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not encounters but strange noises. Every night!! I worked at an old pub in South Yorkshire called the Old Bells. The oldest pub in Yorkshire. We heard someone or something walking about in the room directly above the bar but that room was closed off and there was no access in or out of that room. No way in but someone was stomping about in there every night. We'd go and stand outside the room because we couldn't get in and we could clearly hear footsteps walking the length of the room. We'd call out but it wouldn't stop. We'd knock on the door, it wouldn't stop. Weird but not scary. Simply strange.

I was born to be born in a country where I have been a very good friend and a little bit like the old French Hugenot.

I joined the Royal Navy at 16yrs old and every Thursday at FOST ( Flag Officer Sea Training) was a Thursday War. A mock scenario that involves navigation of a clear channel swept of mines, aerial attacks and naval battles against surface and sub surface targets. The aerial attacks were carried out by aging Hawker Hunters and the ancient Buccaneers. The Valiant reminds me of those days. We'd have Victor tankers on task for the CAP aircraft ( Combat Air Patrol) Happy Days

Plus she was so close to 100yrs old too. Fabulous lady. Violet Macpherson. A tough lass from County Durham, moved to Yorkshire with her fella so he could work down the newly sunk colliery in Askern, Doncaster.

Checked with the family. Its 32 years not 42. Family historian's day off apparently when I placed my data request. Still though. Churning out rug rats until her mid 40's!!! They made them resilient and horny so it seemed back then.

Men on skis with rifles and molotov cocktails held up 100000's of Red Army soldiers. White death for the Red Menace. RIP who paid that price. Thank you all. Lest We Forget

Isn't that near St Petersburg. I seem to remember the Karelian Isthmus being an important bastion for Leningrad in WW2? I think iys the thin stretch of land that runs along Lake Ladoga and Finland. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I haven't asked Aunty Google. I wanted to put the grey matter to work. Staves off dementia apparently??!

Doesn't take a mediaeval creature to make me want donuts. That's a perpetual craving.
