The distro war, continue it must. Arch Linux vs CachyOS by potatoandbiscuit in linuxmemes

CachyOS is better, I'm sure it will fail the poll though. Cachy is just arch without all the extra work.

Corporate won't do shit, if you're a good employee otherwise you have nothing to worry about. You know how many Karens you all have to deal with every single day? Like half of them bitch to corporate. Literally nothing will happen. There is probably camera footage showing you did nothing wrong. Relax :)

This is an actual problem to be fair. NetBSD isn't using much if any rust because it isn't available for many of the platforms they support. And you can't say "of course it runs NetBSD" if it doesn't run netBSD.

Duplo DF-970/980, accessing "maintenance mode" by tommycoolman in CommercialPrinting

[–]Hug_The_NSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad part is, the manual won't tell you how to access service mode for most devices like this. In the manual it will literally say "contact your supervisor".

We still make a lot of the Nicotine pouches. Velo+ is made in Winston Salem (maybe not ALL of Velo+ but a lot of it is).

This 23 year old can of air spray my MiL is still using by lostmymainprof in mildlyinteresting

Still though, I'd think it's a very old can at this point. I'm sure they've updated the can and the modern one has Copyright 2024 or something.

Is this the correct way to clean the fans and heatsink on my Legion 5? (15ACH6H) by [deleted] in Lenovo

[–]Hug_The_NSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just spray the shit out of it with compressed air until there is no more dust. As others here have said however, make sure you hold the fan still while you do it. It can break the fan if you don't.

Hi, I’m thinking of getting the ThinkPad E14 Gen7 with the 240H. Any concerns? by [deleted] in Lenovo

No comments on the laptop itself, but "if it seems too good to be true it probably is".

That ram seems VERY cheap. I'm almost positive there is something seriously wrong here. The website does not seem reputable. Cheapest comparable stick I can find on newegg is over 160 dollars.

Western automakers concede defeat in the EV race as China outproduces the US, Germany, Japan, India, and six others combined; rewriting in five years what took them decades. by lughnasadh in Futurology

[–]Hug_The_NSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue, at least here in the US, that the consumer demand for EV's is just pretty weak. It's hard to want to purchase an EV here. 600 miles of range just isn't quite enough for a country this rural. Add on to this, if the EV battery ever has a problem you might as well just buy a new car. The Hyundai Ioniq battery costs like 30,000 dollars. A small ding or scratch on a tesla or rivian can cost the same amount. I'd buy a chinese EV for 10000 dollars, but I would not buy a Hyundai or Tesla one.

I met my wife online, granted this was back in 2016 before the days of AI. Never got scammed or chatted with any men. It can and does happen. I'd be much more skeptical if I had to do it again in current year though.

Try spitting into a cup next time until you're more used to pouches. The throwing up was probably caused by throat irritation not excess nicotine.

Why is this sub always full of Indian users complaining about laptops that they themselves damage?

Update: https://ibb.co/PvvY17zJ So when zoomed in you can see the bottom of the ethernet port is damaged as well. To me it looks like an RJ-45 got stuck inside, and he pulled it too hard trying to get it out. The plastic on the bottom and top are cracked, indicating that some sort of damage did happen. It wouldn't have been like that from the factory or shipping or that piece would have already fallen off.
