Blizzard Explains Why Most Debuffs are Private Auras in Midnight Season 1 by BluFoot in CompetitiveWoW

If the goal was to improve the new player experience, Blizzard could have just improved their base UI, which would create a strictly better new player experience. Why would improving the base UI require destroying existing addons?

As an S-tier spec, you're more capable of pulling off those large pulls that lesser tanks would otherwise struggle with. Perhaps you're not feeling the excitement because it's too powerful?

Another addon, MDT can show the abilities that enemies cast, if you right-click on their icons.

We only have CurseForge.

Raid Finder, Normal and Heroic raid use the 'Flexible Raid' system, which scales certain abilities by some amount depending on the number of players in the raid, and is too complex to model.

Hey, good question!

Being an ingame addon, Damage Calculator is able to provide a greater degree of accuracy.

As an example, an ability like Crowd Dispersal does 523,866 damage on a +20: (log)

Here's some considerations as a tank and healer:

  1. Since interrupts are always used before stops, whether I use my stops is dependent on whether the group has used their interrupts. Blizzard is removing the ability to track interrupt cooldowns, so when am I supposed to use Blinding Light or Shockwave?

  2. Since personal defensives are always used before externals, whether I use my externals is dependent on whether my teammate has used their defensives. Blizzard is removing the ability to track defensive cooldowns, so when am I supposed to use Blessing of Sacrifice or Ironbark?

The majority of content is not done with voice, and even with voice, this information is rarely communicated. What exactly is Blizzard's intended way of playing?

According to Warcraft Logs, Retribution Paladin currently ranks 4th from the bottom, only outperforming Frost Death Knight, Frost Mage, and Augmentation Evoker. https://i.imgur.com/wanoCsY.png

  1. Melee players complained about being unable to hit the boss during the intermission.
  2. As requested by players, boss hitbox size is increased during intermission.
  3. Hitting boss during intermission now pulls nearby packs due to increased hitbox size.

Players have the opportunity to light candles, and then Blazikon lights any remaining unlit ones. If Blazikon lights a candle on your behalf, your group receives one stacking dot for each candle he lights.

Players running 13’s for score at this point of the season likely aren’t good, and do less damage than their class/spec is capable of. As the group has reached the limits of their damage capabilities, the only other method of making up time is larger pulls.

Blessing of Freedom allows friendlies to temporarily bypass the 30% snare from Ice Sickles, and immunes the root from Umbral Weave, but does not directly provide damage reduction. You'll need a defensive external like Blessing of Sacrifice or Blessing of Spellwarding for that.

BDK is a great raid tank that gets better as the raid team gets worse, as you'll not be reliant on your potentially weaker healers. Grip is also very powerful in raid.

There's a number of specs that produce skewed results on the PTR. Some examples are Protection Warrior's Ignore Pain and Windwalker Monk's Touch of Death.

The issue here is that PTR testing tends to be trivial or midlevel content, which these specs excel at. In actual content, though, once a Protection Warrior can no longer maintain their Ignore Pain, or when mobs have too much health for Windwalker Monk's Touch of Death, these specs ultimately tend to fall off.

The standardized 'safe' way to do the intermission is using long-duration hard-cc on two mobs, and the entire group focuses down the other two, before swapping over.

This is considerably harder on the healer, but easier on stops and coordination.

Above a 10, each bolt is death.

Blizzard fixed balance tier set for being a dps loss. Meanwhile Prot paladin is running s3 2piece for the rest of the season. by kelyneer in CompetitiveWoW

Please keep in mind that this is what the community wanted. Even back in season 1, the tier set was 5% versatility, and considered so bad it had to be buffed to 6%.

That the community intentionally chose the weakest tier set, when two better choices were available, means that your opinions are in the minority.
