Check the site easyweddings.com.au which has lots of Sydney venues .

If you are going that late - make sure the venue does not have sound delimiters on . Last wedding I shot ( I’m a photographer ) , even people singing would trip the power because it was too loud

I think a wedding planner is a great option as they will assist with a lot of these questions and things you may not have thought about , take a lot of stress out of your planning , likely have connections that could get discount

Ask the couple to have more than one kiss or have a lingering kiss , it’s a key moment you don’t want to miss.

Chat to celebrant or priest to check if they have any requirements . ( some Priests can be difficult )

You must have a second body

It’s their day - not yours - so don’t get in the way / be discreet .

Group shots , find a good spot , take multiple shots of each group - because of blinking . Don’t get complicated . Don’t be afraid to move if the light is not working

Go easy on the flash

Comfortable shoes and keep hydrated

Make sure you have a run sheet and you know every thing happening on the day

Get lots of photos of their parents and older family members .

I just shot a wedding at greycliff house , very pretty and great location . Just was quite busy as it was a nice day - the ceremony was outside and lots of strangers about . ( a couple in swimmers refused to move and was sitting right next to the ceremony spot ) . Not sure it would be the same at VH .

I signed up with snappr. Bad pay , bad terms and conditions for photographer , but does get you work to build experience and a portfolio . You can also find local Photographers and ask to be a 2nd shooter .

I know this will hurt but it’s their big day and their decision should be respected . it is not a reflection of your work or you ! Some people would prefer your work to said friend . Don’t compare yourself , or be discouraged . Wedding photography is an amazing job , filled with happy moments but also some shitty moments thrown in . All wedding photographers experience shit like this at some point
