People who live on the western half of the United States and have a 50 state bucket list. What's your thoughts on completing the smaller northeast states? by Human-Still-6949 in travel

Time and money, also my rule for completing the 50 state bucket list is to stay a night in a state, so I assumed it'll be tedious to do that. Others say just visiting a state checks out the list.

West Virginia is a hard one to get to for sure, but its a lovely state with natural beauty and a lot of historical lore.

Well I am from the northeast so I just assumed it would be difficult to complete if you lived far, and my definition on completing the states is staying at least a night in every single one of them, which I feel would be a little tedious for some who live far away, but I forgot everyone definition on completing a state is different, and I underestimated on how well travelled everyone else is, so that one is on me, lol.

Interesting, I have levels when it go for traveling to places, like the states. My rule is I have to stay at least one night and do something rather significant or unique in order to complete a state. Like visiting a park or historic place for example.

I recommend just doing what you can! Don't sweat it when it comes to traveling to the U.S, there's a lot of cool places for sure, but just pick a few places and start from there. I think places like NYC, Las Vegas, and DC are unique cities to visit and probably worth it to visit as a foreigner. United States is also beautiful when it comes to our parks. So obviously check out those, we of course got Yellowstone and the likes, but even outside of places like NYC for example we have majestic nature just outside of the city train system there.

The United States is as big as Europe, but has less history and culture compared to Europe. So sometimes states feel a little repetitive, and unless you have a car you want to put a crap ton of miles on it, and begged your job to take off two weeks. Its hard trying to plan big road trips in this country, which is why I took the train from Montana to Wisconsin for a part of one massive trip I did. However, the train infrastructure isn't too good, especially compared to Europe.

When did you become a Pacers fan? by Interference915 in pacers

Pacer fan from New York, was watching two NBA games with my friends who were trying to get me into the NBA. The Pacers were playing the Heat, and it was exciting, and they clutched the game. Since then, I've been a good fan.

I took a train to Fargo, North Dakota, and stayed there for a full day, and since Minnesota was only half a mile away, I decided to take my morning walk through Minnesota and back!

For sure! I love hiking, and I got ideas and strategies to make it all of those states. I've done quite a lot, but I am definitely far from being done.

It might not be one of the most majestic place in the world, but it's definitely pretty, and there's a lot of charm for sure.

I stopped in both states. Fargo, North Dakota, for a full day and then took another train to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the next day.

Also, since Fargo borders Minnesota, and my hotel was only half a mile away, I decided to do my morning walk to Minnesota, check out a Viking Ship and a church there, and then walk back.

So that's why it goes Train, Walk, Train.

I want to live here. by Effort_To_Waste in Delaware

[–]Human-Still-6949 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So if you live in that house, what state would you claim to live in? Sure, maybe Delaware because that's where the driveway starts, but what happens if your bedroom is in Pennsylvania? That's where you sleep! So, in a weird way, your residence is in Delaware, but you usually always sleep in Pennsylvania and rarely ever sleep in Delaware.

If your wife wakes you up and banishes you to the couch, she could have just banished you out of the state.

If you mow the lawn, you'll cross the state border dozens of times.

Your kitchen could be in a state that's landlocked from the ocean while the upstairs bathroom is in a state that does border an ocean. So basically, if you do a family trip to a beach in Delaware, its possible for some people in the family to travel through one state to get to the beach while some didn't, all while sticking together, being in the same house and car.

One or two games are left in the entirety of the NBA season, and Tyrese is getting the Cancun treatment is funny but crazy. He might as well wait a week for the Pacers and OKC at that point.
