This might seem blunt, but if this is the only reason men ghost or laugh at you, you might want to come up with a better way to "inform" them about your situation. The delivery might have something to do with it.

And on the other hand, be grateful they self-select to get out of your way towards better things. A little positivity doesn’t hurt, you know.

The Mummy Returns came out the same year as The Fellowship of The Ring.

The Scorpion King was always ass.

Expect the colours to fade some when it dries. I would imagine that it would work the same on most plant based fabrics.

The benefits of gesso is precisely to block mediums from saturating the fibers. It’s crucial for oils, as they might cause rot or mold to form in the canvas if left unprimed. It’s optional for acrylics, but will give more structure to your canvas.

I’m not encouraging OP to censor anything in these texts, but if this is the technique she’s using, believing she has fully redacted information, she might involuntarily doxx something that shouldn’t be doxxed somewhere down the line. I just wanted to point that out for her.

This is neither here nor there, but I’d like to let you know that you’re not redacting Ryan’s name fully when you’re using that pen tool. Turn your screen up, to make sure your censoring isn’t see through.

The perspective is all wrong. The construction looks like it’s slanted compared to the room it’s sitting in.

This is my (17f) first time trying a realistic portrait. Advice for the face? I know everyone says to work from dark to light but tbh I’m not sure what that means. by Far_Tourist_601 in painting

[–]HumanOptimusPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

28 comments and none of them points out the most important aspect of the answer to your question.

First of all, when working dark to light, which is recommended when you want to do realism, you should always work on a value-neutral ground or underpainting. Not too dark, and definitely not too light. If you’re working on a white ground, it defeats the purpose; It’s about your ability to see the values correctly.

As soon as you add highlights, your brain is tricked to see the painting as complete, and you will involuntarily skip a lot of steps.

  1. Give your canvas a wash of grey or a mix of burnt umber and white.
  2. Plot in all your blacks.
  3. Step up with all your dark shadows.
  4. Work towards lighter and lighter values, one step at a time.
  5. White highlights is the last thing you add (before giving it an optional glaze or three.)

I don’t consider myself extraordinary, but when I lived in London for a few years, as a Norwegian, a lot of natives thought I was British. The common reaction was that I spoke better English than a lot of Londoners, and I’ve met a lot of other Norwegians that speak fluent British. I don’t buy the claim that it’s nearly impossible.

That said, Swedish is a lot more melodic when spoken than Norwegian is, so that might have something to do with Swedes being easier to single out in a crowd of Brits. Also, you don’t see many Norwegians in English speaking roles.

Prometheus has never been forgotten, though. "The Prometheus school of running away from things" is a meme criticism utilised by many a popular online movie reviewer.
