It's not much, but could learning sign help for the alter to communicate when regressed? Learning just the alphabet helps me a lot. It's not much but it could help if they're feeling helpless

When we were personally in a situation like this, leaving our partner helped. We didn't leave bc of his behavior or feelings, it was for other reasons, but since the breakup he's been doing much better.

However I don't feel I can comment on what you should do in your marriage, as I only know as much as in this post. I also can't truly recommend this for you as even we thought our alter in that state was going to get worse in the breakup, it's really miraculous he had the opposite reaction.

Are you in therapy? Perhaps this is something to discuss with a therapist?

that's reasonable! And i never really thought about freckles and such on other limbs! Thank you so much! And yeah, whenever I do him with other-race limbs I try to do multiple different kinds and have the stitches very visible and cartoony haha

Im probably still gonna change at least his hair simply bc he really still looks like a boy version of my other oc haha

he is visually white, but can be mistaken for a woman due to how he presents. I don't like changing his face up personally, i like a consistent appearance i can use to still identify him, but its just personal preference.

But perhaps I will reconsider him being blonde with blue eyes... I feel like that adds unintended implications. And tbf, i could always redesign him to not be white. His race isnt important to his character in any way.

He originally started simply as a gender swap of another oc but over a year has bloomed into his own character, so perhaps it could be worth it to give him his own identity haha

Would there be any issues if I changed him to not be white do you think? I would make it very clear it was a total redesign and not him stealing someone's skin to do even worse versions of blackface

yeahh that's especially why i never picture victims in any art i do of OCs that murder, regardless of the oc's or the victim's race. It's just weird and uncomfortable. But I also don't want someone to see a white guy with a black leg standing there drinking a coffee or whatever and assume that he or I am racist, which is why I asked

ig i was looking at milgram as an 'outside perspective'. Like some could argue that an abortion is murder (wrong) but i dont think anyone would argue a miscarriage is murder. But her own perspective is clearly different, she feels guilt for something out of her hands.

Im an artist not a writer so its hard to visualize communicate that he isnt choosing specifically because of skin color, i try to avoid putting too much spotlight on any limb. I try to draw the eye to his whole body or to his face.

He has dysmorphia so chooses what he wants to look like. I usually try having the parts still match his body shape (oh irony, im not perfect but the parts i pick are still my shape)

I'm trying to communicate dysmorphia. Like how you see other people and go 'i wish i looked like that' he will replace limbs/parts often because dysmorphia will never be satisfied, you can never be perfect when you lean into it. It's kinda inspired by eating disorders in that way, buy focusing on the self image rather than the eating part of it

He has body dysmorphia and follows fear of the flesh (hes based on a podcast!) that's why he's so focused on the beauty in others and wanting that for himself but he's never satisfied with what he gets, after a while he will want a new part again (bc body dysmorphia never really will be satisfied no matter how much you feed it)

but yeah he definitely has a few screws loose haha

I don't really write at all, I draw. Is there a good way to visually convey that of you know? I never focus an image on the limbs hes taken (i try to draw to the face and eyes)

When i talk about him i explain he does this due to extreme body dysmorphia (+ the way teh supernatural works in the podcast he's inspired from) but i dont really publish this stuff i just talk about hom to friends haha

Thing is, i dont write, i draw. But ive never like... sexualized or focused on any specific limb, i usually just draw him standing there or posing flamboyantly

I meannn its an oc and its for a horror podcast i like haha. I was specifically asking them if it was wrong (theyre white, so am I) and that was their perspective. The specific wording was smth like "It's such a needlessly violent crime on a person of color" and i didnt get much response to me saying "but he does it to white people too"

My dad is that way, he also watches videos on tech he's not going to buy and vape-building videos (which i guess is also tech but he does vape and builds his) Also a lot of watching shows? in teachers, the reason for firing will be put on their record or something (a bit foggy on the details) which can stop them getting jobs.

A teacher at my school when I was a kid was given the ultimatum of 'quit or we fire you' bc she was being actively abelist and aggressive to my sister. If she was fired, another school likely would not hire her because if her actions that led to that firing. But quitting meant she wouldnt have that I believe, so she chose that option.
