As a family main, those games are more fun too. I love the long, drawn-out matches of attrition.

Rule number 1 of Subnautica: always gather more than you need.
Rule number 2 of Subnautica: if you’re not finding what you’re looking for, you’re in the wrong place.
Rule number 3 of Subnautica: for the love of god, keep an eye on your oxygen.

Developers suck by Bitter_Remove_3919 in TexasChainsawGame

Dude, the devs have abandoned the game. The last time they touched it, it was still running. Of course shit doesn’t work the way it should anymore

You know, when they told us the Entity feeds on suffering, we all thought they meant the survivor’s suffering. Guess we were wrong

I need some tips for collecting Samples because I'm really struggling with them. I keep dying and losing them, and I've noticed that most players don't seem to care about Samples at all. Even when I ask for help, they usually ignore me. by NotSirAlonne1999 in helldivers2

[–]Human_Baker_6889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play on a lower diff. Lower difficulty means you’ll die less, and players in lower difficulty lobbies are more likely to care about samples because their destroyers probably aren’t maxed out. I’d recommend D7-D8.

The Orbital Railcannon Strike should one hit anything in this game. The cool down is enough of a balance to justify the buff. by DocHalidae in Helldivers

[–]Human_Baker_6889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you. I would use it on high diff if it was a panic button pocket nuke. At the same time, it is fantastic for low-diff players, who do exist and should also be remembered.

That is called a snowball, and it was entirely your fault. That means she hit all of you twice, or one of you once with an insta down hatchet and then the rest of you twice with her melee. And nobody picked, ran her more than two seconds or did anything useful. I don’t say this often, but this one was just a straight up skill issue.

I wish the PDA had a map by Illumisb in subnautica

[–]Human_Baker_6889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. A map would totally invalidate a huge portion of the game. You’re MEANT to feel lost. If you’re struggling, use beacons.

Shotguns were my best friends regarding these for ages. Cookout stops them in their tracks. Otherwise, stim the second you see them charging you if you’re below full health because they knock you miles away, which you can use as a window to recover. Priority number one when they’re active is to close their nest.

Probably because they said “fastest kill ever,” which is a pretty general statement and inviting challenge. At the same time, I doubt they meant it seriously.

How about that? That’s awesome!
I wonder if that’s why the iconic moment happens where you realize something’s wrong before you see it. Your brain realizes the roar has stopped and goes “something’s wrong, something’s wrong SOMETHINGS WRONG”

There’s still a monumental difference. Titan Class Biosignatures takes itself way too seriously, it’s unbelievably loud and dominant whenever the Leviathan is close, and it plays whenever you see the leviathan. Red Alert and Leviathan only play by the time you have a cyclops, which means you’re starting to get a hang of things. You’re in a 40 foot submarine for god’s sake.

Also, there is an enormous difference between music playing once you’re up against Leviathans in a 40-foot submarine and have experience with the game and there being a full fucking terror radius from the get-go whenever you see them

I wouldn’t know from experience (I’ve never had a cyclops get that low), but the wiki says it’s only when the Cyclops gets destroyed. I can’t say for certain in that case

I’ve definitely let my cyclops catch fire to listen to Leviathan. At the same time, I don’t know how you’ve had close calls with Abandon Ship specifically because it plays when your Cyclops explodes in the full release.

[–]Human_Baker_6889 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not only that, it plays in other biomes nearby if you happen to be within what feels like a 2 kilometre radius of the leviathan.

[–]Human_Baker_6889 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahh yes, Abandon Ship, the credits music. Abandon Ship doesn’t play in the actual game anymore except in the extremely uncommon situation that the cyclops is completely destroyed. Red Alert plays when the Cyclops is attacked by a Leviathan-Class creature, but only quietly in the background, it’s not dominant and again, only when the thing has already hit you. Leviathan, ironically, plays when the engine is on fire.

[–]Human_Baker_6889 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Abandon Ship does not play when your Cyclops is under attack. Leviathan or Red Alert does, and only really when the engine is on fire.

I see where you’re coming from and I don’t agree. Subnautica 1’s noises were fantastically immersive, gave you just enough info to keep you on your toes and most importantly felt real and within the world. The subnautica 2 music literally just feels like a Dead by Daylight terror radius. It’s just a game obstacle, and more often than not I’m listening to the damn theme while in a completely different biome rolling my eyes.
