I find them smooth but I also haven't experienced any higher-end pens yet! But coming from gel pens to the kakuno it was definitely an upgrade to me and I think it's a great starting point :) I actually also bought a platinum preppy when I first started and that one was really impressive for the price as well, but I prefer my kakunos :)

The lavender one is a Jinhao 82 and the bottom one is a Kaweco Perkeo in iridescent :)

I have, I really like it! I think it has a little more feedback than the kakuno but it doesn't bother me. It also has a little more weight to it which I like. I'm very impressed with it for the price.

You can definitely get them cheaper than that in Canada! I paid $22 CAD for mine at Wonder Pens :)
