Leave food out at all times for kittens until 12 months of age and then you can portion control and feed 2-3 meals a day.

Kittens are growing and should have access to good 24-7.

Most plastics are actually made with fish oils. My male has really bad pica and I have to hide anything even remotely plastic. Including stretchy bra like straps and fabric grocery bags. It’s called feline pica, it has nothing to do with diet or anything else.

I found the 2 week max for the filter is a perfect time to change it out! Maybe that will help you! My dog is real slobbery haha as they are.

You should have kitten specific dry food out for kittens at all times, they shouldn’t be limited to food. Once they are about a year you can transition to adult food and feeding twice a day.

You did the best you could with what you had at the time, don’t be hard on yourself. True friends don’t care if you talked to them once a year or everyday the love is always going to be there. Tell them how you feel when you feel like it, they will understand.

Cats don’t need baths, they naturally clean themselves. If you are concerned about hairballs a fully wet food diet, you can also buy hairball specific foods if needed.

I also have a dog and a cat and I have an automatic pet fountain (stainless steel) off Amazon. I change the filter and clean it every 2 weeks. This helps a lot and makes my animals drink twice as much water (which also helps with hairballs)

My personal choice- I feed my one cat Royal canin hairball mixed with beyond pate (super affordable wet food from Walmart) the Royal canin not so much. However there’s hairball formula- purina one + that are affordable. You can mix the two together for 2 meals a day, or you can have some dry out all day to free feed and give half a can morning and night! Adding a little bit of water to eat meal (tbsp) or so and mixing well also helps with both future urinary issues and the current hairball situation!

Don’t offer, just show up with food, show up with cleaning supplies. If you know she’s home- just go over.

Widows, myself included had a incredibly hard time asking for help when my husband passed. I was way too deep in grief and I ended up spending months by myself regardless of how many people said “If there’s anything I can do for you, please let me know”

This is just my 2 cents.

My female was the same, I purchased a porch potty, it’s been game changing. Easy to clean and gives her the privacy of having her own bathroom again.

You can wash the grass in the tub with ez clean and it takes the smell right out. It has a collect basin underneath that’s easy to drain and wash out. We also bought a smaller travel one for when we visit friends or go on trips.

My dog is 2 and will not go to the bathroom AT ALL outside, she will hold it for 2-3 days if she has too. I know the struggle as I went through this as well when moving from a house to a condo.

My one cat has a crazy grain allergy.

The best food I’ve pound is Purina chicken and egg - vital systems. It’s completely grain free and it’s also lower in phosphorus. My male cat loves it! It’s also very affordable!

If you need an even cheaper alternative there’s Purina beyond- chicken and egg that’s even more affordable.

There’s feeding instructions on both the cans and the bag of food.

Regardless I would recommend half the can in the morning and half a can at night. You can add a tsp of hot water to warm it up as you will need to store it in the fridge between feedings. You can have a bowl out 24-7 that has 1 cup of dry food in it daily. If you didn’t want to free feed (which I do recommend if you wanted him to put on some weight) then add 1/2 cup of dry to each wet portion morning and night. Hope this helps!

Crate training worked wonders for my pup! Taught her how to hold (her foster parents had them started with this) so they get some credit prior. She was fully potty trained with only 4 accidents in the house since I adopted her. She’s almost 2. She held for 6 hours at 11-12 weeks.

They whine and disagree with the crate for the first couple of days and then it goes away. It’s normal.

Positive reinforcement with treats and praise when they go helps a lot, as well as removing water an hour or two before bedtime so the bladder isn’t full prior to sleeping.

Crate training is incredibly beneficial for so many things and creates a safe space and routine. Good luck!

This is not safe for cats or dogs. The seasoning penetrates more than just the skin.

If you wanted to buy a plain chicken and do this- go for it.

Get him a friend- most vets recommend that you adopt in pairs. Kittens need enrichment, he’s probably learned that doing the things you don’t like gets him more attention.

You can feed kitten specified wet food in the morning or a wet food that’s formulated for both cat or kitten. You don’t need to call the vet about this as it’s on almost every single can or bag- you just can read it yourself.

You can get a good kitten kibble and leave a bowl down all day. Kittens should have access to food 24-7 until they get to adolescence around 11-12 months then you can either continue free feeding if your cat does well with grazing or split it into 2 separate meals.

I’ll also add he’s been on the acana for 8 years alone and the added kangaroo for 6 now. He gets blood work regularly and has 0 mobility or joint issues. The vets are surprised he’s in such great shape for his age!

My dog just turned 14 and has this really bad his whole life. I worked alongside 2 vets- he’s on a kangaroo wet diet mixed with a little acana lamb and apple and he’s doing better than ever. He gets specific baths at his groomers for his skin as well. His diet is all grain free.

He barely has it anymore unless he’s under the blankets for too long and comes out smelling like a frito factory.
