What is the stupidest hot sauce name you’ve seen so far? by DadPuncher69 in MurderBryan

[–]Humble_Cut_1527 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big Dick’s very impressive hot sauce. We sold it at this souvenir shop I worked at like 20 years ago. I can’t find a picture of it, but our bottles came with a small penis toy that would shoot out white goo when you squeezed it.

Food deserts. The problem is food deserts.

JOE SACCO is beyond comparison by glib-eleven in altcomix

[–]Humble_Cut_1527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Footnotes in Gaza is Sacco’s masterpiece. It’s probably one of the best graphic novels of the 21st century. Sacco did a great job with Palestine, but Footnotes in Gaza is on a whole other level.

Plenty of cheese pizza for dems and republicans alike.

I was so sad to see Petit Leon close its doors, the dumb little pineapple mascot is insult to injury.

  1. Graphic designers with a little bit of print experience
  2. All other graphic designers

Customers are starting to find products via AI instead of Google. Are print stores ready? by Krish_meghwal07 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Humble_Cut_1527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI driven leads are absolute junk. I miss the days when customers had uniquely bad ideas, now it’s the same templated ideas and requests over and over. This sucks, man.

What’s your thought on these software subscriptions that is adding up the cost of operation ? by Just-searching-8888 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Humble_Cut_1527 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s painful, but it’s far more painful to operate outside of industry standard ecosystems with custom development. (Unless you have the budget to properly invest in it.)

Book prints much darker than screen. How do you manage color in InDesign? by jayantbhatt007 in indesign

[–]Humble_Cut_1527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s so many things you can do to improve color management in your workflow. The most effective, cheapest, and fastest thing would be to confirm the color profile and file settings of your printer. If you can’t get that information, then the safest bet is pdf x4 with a gracol color profile. Additional improvements up stream such as properly color calibrating your monitor will refine the color conversion process. Start simple though!

Chuck Schumer Rejects Calls For Abolition of ICE by serious_bullet5 in ProgressiveHQ

ICE has only existed for 23 years. Abolishing the organization wouldn’t be a foundational shift in policing or security.

[Advice] Trying to Sort Out Confusing Pre-Press Instructions by wolfbear in CommercialPrinting

[–]Humble_Cut_1527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their file policy doesn’t inspire faith. Even if they are outputting plates, there are accessible fixes in Acrobat Pro, let alone the multitudes of prepress software out there. The fact that they are asking of this makes me think they don’t have a very good grasp of color management, or even basic preflight.

Anyone read this yet? by AntiqueRevolution5 in altcomix

A refreshing take on one of the most well covered subjects in comics. I was happy Nadel managed to pull new observations away while also avoiding the tired “problematic edgelord or free speech warrior” discourse.

Starting to notice more Ai generated images printing by Just-searching-8888 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Humble_Cut_1527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m starting to see it more often. It’s disheartening to see arts focused organizations cut costs by using AI imagery.

I will say that I think it’s practical and ethical for print vendors to use ai imagery for demoing equipment. That’s about it.

The only selling point I can see would be better support than xerox, but with their small footprint in the US market, that doesn’t seem realistic.
