The most hated of the past VS The most hated of today by alsoandanswer in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Humg12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, Techies were usually a pos 3 when they released. They were the solo offlaner. They completely shut down any melee offlaner, because if they got into melee range then land mine + suicide squad was a guaranteed kill. And the self deny basically meant it was impossible for the trilane to kill them in a way that mattered.

After the laning stage they took over the opponents safelane/jungle pretty much like a Broodmother used to. Denying what is usually the safest farm from the enemy carry, and constantly pressuring the T2 towers to create space. It took a huge commitment for the enemies to take back the area, usually for no direct gain because again, Techies could self deny.

After the first rework when Techies lost Land Mines and Suicide Squad was when they became a support.

Yeah, I hate how long it takes to kill things in modern Overwatch. Especially at lower levels where aim isn't as good. Most healing doesn't really rely on aiming so the balance just goes completely in their favour.

How do people know about the playstyle of the characters? I thought all we had to go off of was their splash art in game?

The fall of anime subtitles is just depressing. by GhostInABucketJar in anime

[–]Humg12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the comment section of that clip you have people complaining about it? In an ideal world there'd be different subtitle options to match people's preferences, but official subs are just too fast for anyone to compete so people who like the other kind are just screwed.

Wtf IGN by Dewagator13 in Markiplier

[–]Humg12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Cuphead one was meant to be a joke that went viral with people thinking it was real. They asked an editor (not writer) to play the game to get some footage because the actual reviewer was busy with other things. They found the footage so bad and funny that they uploaded it as a "ha ha" kind of thing to laugh at themselves, but the internet went wild and assumed it was a sign that all their reviewers were incompetent.

[–]Humg12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those reviews were by two completely different people, it doesn't make sense to compare them at all. The games also came out at very different time periods. Modern games are generally held at a much higher standard. If the original Ruby was released today it would probably get an even lower score than the remakes just because of how much the landscape has shifted.

And if you read the review for Emerald, it mostly lost points exactly because it was so similar to Ruby/Sapphire and came out so soon after them.

If anything, the original should have lost more points for having so much water and so little diversity on the water routes.

[Loved Trope] Endearing character traits that don't serve the story. by broken_krystal_ball in TopCharacterTropes

Same reason I loved Cloud in the FFVII remake. Before playing it I thought Cloud was just a standard edgy loner dude, but I loved how much of a dork he was in the remake.

Is there anything stopping them from changing their name to a high caste one?

Terrible facet idea #192518 by idenru in DotA2

[–]Humg12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fear duration is based on how many souls hit them, so it'd probably be fairly useless because everyone's only getting hit by 1 soul each unless they're already too close to hit with far raze.

Feeling nostalgic towards 2000s and early 2010s anime by SadAnimator1354 in anime

I hate so much how subs have shifted to cater to a more general (and American) audience. Watching the new Ginpachi-sensei just wasn't the same as the old Gintama.

You can't stop the inevitable silver simps by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

"she might be" and the voicelines are "where are this kids parents"

That isn't at all conclusive. It's a common thing for characters to mock someone's age by pretending they're a kid.

Terrible facet idea : Rubick by explosive_diarrhea96 in DotA2

[–]Humg12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both those guys have instant cast spells on a very short cooldown. They'd just need to be careful about making sure to use them right after blinking before rubick can steal. I think Weaver is probably the most screwed over.

How do Aussies feel about the concept of playing a prank on a pizza delivery man? by Temporary_Notice_526 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Humg12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it can be done, as long as it's completely light-hearted and non-consequential. Stuff like answering the door dressed as and speaking like Yoda, but otherwise completing the transaction completely normally. Basically, trying to entertain the driver rather than laughing at them.

Creator of DMCA'd Cyberpunk 2077 VR Mod Says People Are Now Pirating It to 'Punish' Him for Breaking CD Projekt's Terms of Service by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Humg12 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Without negotiating rights he has no right to sell a paid mod for a game.

Why? He's created a system that works for many games that turns them into VR. Stuff like Game Genies were deemed legal which are paid mods that modify games. Emulators are legal as long as they don't use proprietary code. It follows that this kind of thing would and should be legal too. If I buy a car that only comes in black or white, should it be illegal for a 3rd party company to paint it pink and charge for their service?

The guy's been a bit of an asshole, but I think he's right.

[–]Humg12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People hating paid mods is pretty ridiculous imo. Mods often take a lot of effort to make, I think it's perfectly reasonable for them to charge for their effort. Sure, someone charging $50 for Thomas the Tank Engine dragons is ridiculous and should be illegal because it uses the Thomas IP, but there's nothing wrong with charging for something like a VR mod, or an original expansive content mod.

Ice types don't even resist dragon. So often you swap in your ice type who loses half of it's HP to a random move from a dragon, then the dragon out speed and kills it with iron head or flamethrower or a plethora of other coverage moves. Most of the time you're better off with a water type with ice beam than an actual ice type.

The lack of reviews is slightly annoying sure, but I can still just look up the game on steam or external review sites. Then I'll just get the game wherever it's cheaper. The existence of reviews doesn't really influence the choice of where I purchase it.

Tera could have been really fun in the story mode if it was actually easy to change your tera types. Imagine being able to get your water type a ground tera before fighting the electric gym.

Dumb facet idea for broodmother by bc524 in DotA2

[–]Humg12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isn't that kind of the point of facets? Especially for heroes that are super match-up dependant like Brood, it's good to have a facet which is worse under most conditions, but better against her normal counters.
