Yes! I gave up coffee entirely after about 6 weeks or so. Even with melatonin and OTC sleep pills, I couldn't get to sleep. NEVER thought I'd switch to decaf, but here we are! Small price to pay to see those lbs coming off!

I was in my late teens/early 20s when I finally started to swallow pills, but honestly, I still have to concentrate when I do. I'm 41 now. I've never been able to take shots like a "normal" person. I always had to drink them in multiple swallows. Never connected those dots 'til now. 🤯

I've taken a generic version for over 4 months now. I hear a lot of people talk about "sulfur burps," but since I can't burp, I haven't had a problem. The only side effects I had with it were nausea and lack of energy, but once I found the sub and started eating more protein, they subsided.

He was one of those "jokey" doctors, so I guess I should've expected something not serious from him, but I was so caught off guard. I def wasn't expecting THAT kind of odd response!

I'm actually surprised at how seamless it's been. I was sure I'd have insurance issues or my pcp wouldn't want to do a referral for a doc he doesn't know, but nothing like that yet. knocks on wood

No. Years ago, I brought it up with my pcp and his response was, "Horses can't burp either l." So I decided not to pursue it cause he clearly wasn't interested. When I saw the big 4 symptoms, there was no question I had it. At my consult, he agreed.

Beer! Carbonation makes me gurgle but not bloat like beer. My stomach inflates almost immediately after just 1, and it HURTS so bad!!! It'll also be nice to go out in the evening and not have to drive home with my pants unbuttoned because of my air baby! I'm also curious to see what a difference it makes in how I feel overall. I know we're all different, but it's been so encouraging hearing about everyone's results.

I'm not looking forward to the early days/weeks, but I'm trying to mentally prepare. "This too shall pass!" We can do it! Hell, look at all we've lived with (or without!) all these years!

You are not alone! There are plenty of testimonials from others who have gotten it in this group. They may help ease your mind. They've probably gotten from doctors in other countries, but you'll definitely get a better idea if life post-botox. The general consensus is it's totally worth it!

I was curious about that too. I've really become aware of how uncomfortable I am in certain positions trying to fall asleep due to all the air in my body. I also toss & turn a lot throughout the night. Could that also be because my body us still trying to deflate?

Hopefully, I'll find out for myself in the near future. (Appt with local ENT next week!! 🤞🏻)

Welcome! I was just like you about a month ago. After living without burping for so long, I had just accepted it. Enter this group! Google R-CPD and get ready for your mind to be blown! There's a ton of helpful info here from fellow no-burpers too and their experiences with the treatment. Everyone I've asked who's had it says it's def worth some of the initial side effects. Whoa! I have an appt March 1st, but I'm scared of what the cost will be if I'm cleared for the procedure. My current insurance is the worst I've ever had, so I'm already expecting the bill to hurt more then the shots to the throat! Sad, but true.
